Handsome!
You can add vinegar to your rinse cycle to help reduce lint and soften your clothes plus it helps keep your washer clean. I use it in every wash.

Except vinegar is a little hard to come by these days. I use it for cleaning parts of my APAP gear and am trying to keep a stockpile so I don't run out and end up with mold lung.

Y’know, I was adding vinegar to my wash, based on something you posted, but then I ran across this, so now I’m using it more strategically. It might be bullshit, but now I’m wondering.
Washing Machines
Vinegar is sometimes used as a fabric softener or for getting rid of stains and odors in laundry, but as with dishwashers, it can damage the rubber seals and hoses in some washing machines to the point of causing leaks. It’s a problem that Steven Grayson, owner of Foothills Appliance Service in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, sees fairly frequently: “With continual use, vinegar can literally melt hoses, causing leaks and thereby possibly all kinds of additional damage to the house,” says Grayson. In his experience, front-load washers are especially susceptible to vinegar-related damage.
Plus, it may not even be doing much. “Vinegar isn’t very useful with stains that have already set into clothing, including food stains and bloodstains,” says Sansoni. Consumer Reports' recent tests of laundry stain removers reveal products that are great at removing tough stains, and you don't have to worry about any of them melting the rubber in your washer.

It's always something. Wonder how much vinegar people are using to do damage. I've not seen anything yet but will be sure to update if I do. Probably will have some event where I have a massive leak that does damage to the house given the way things have been going this year.
BTW - I've had better luck with vinegar getting out stains than any of the stuff you can buy at the store and I've tried just about all of them.“When you see something that is not right, not just, not fair, you have a moral obligation to say something. To do something." Rep. John Lewis

Canning season, it's everywhere (and on sale) in my area.
Re vinegar causing damage, I call BS, assuming the implied damage is caused by acidity.
(I'm certainly no chemist, but) Vinegar is what? pH 2 at 5% strength? Maybe someone smarter than me can do the math, but you're adding up to a cup (250mL) of vinegar into a wash containing ~57L to 114L (15 gallons to 30 gallons) of water per cycle. I'm assuming the water is going to buffer the acidity, no?
Or maybe if you have super soft water (less buffering capacity) it's more of a concern?

Acup is an awful lot. I use probably a quarter cup on my front loader and a half cup in my top loader on the deep water wash setting which has to be close to 10 gals of water. I use 2 rinse cycles on my front loader. I can't imagine there is that much vinegar residue sitting around.

Well, hell, I put the vinegar in a little compartment in my washer that’s for bleach. Probably around 2 ounces. Fuck CR, Imma use vinegar.

Miss Mayhem has a way to crawl inside our loveseat from the side. She has a little nest in there but mostly did this as a kitten. What was annoying was that she would then reach out through an opening and attack people who were sitting there.
