Not good. We got him an emergency visit with a neurologist yesterday since over the weekend he pretty much stopped eating and drinking and couldn't walk without losing his balance and tipping over.

He has a tumor on the his brain stem which is inoperable among some other issues. He could go at any time. He is resting at home getting all the love and attention he can handle.

I want to give a very genuine thank you and props to Hutash who has really gone above and beyond with compassion and helpful information. What an absolute pro.

Fuck. Love to Fluffles. Got salmon? Cats go nutty over salmon. Bacon for cats. Since this sounds like bacon day. +++Vibes+++

Thaleia - poor kitty - so so sorry to hear that. It’s good that Fluffles has such a loving family.

Mr Chao getting fat and lazy with fur on his belly. A month or so ago he was in the cone for a full day to calm him down. He’s still not fully recovered from his car ride but he’s normal cat occasionally.

So sorry! Sounds like how my Alice was in the end. Hang in there and Godspeed to Fluffles.

Thaleia, my friend, I am sad for you because I know how hard it is. We've talked a bit privately and you know where I am with the cats.

Love him until he's full of it. Then let him rest a little. He loves you. Love him.

Hey Thaleia I don't know you, but I've enjoyed the pictures you've shared and I know from reading your posts how much Fluffles means to you. Hold him close, and know that we're sending good vibes to both of you.

    Sorry about your buddy, Thaleia.

We've had a new cat coming by the house for the last couple days. Only took him a couple days to come right up to us and let us touch him. I think he has a home. He's a little shaggy, but not bad. Good looking cat!

My heart goes out to you and Fluffles, Thaleia. Our cat Kimosabe met her end with a brain tumor as well. The hardest part of pet ownership is outliving them.

We found a mobile vet who came to our house for palliative care and then when we put her down. I like to think that it was easier for her to avoid the angst of going to the vet, and instead die in our arms at home.

    Peace

^^^ Chao is such a tease...

Vibes Thalela, that's bad kitty news. So sorry it's that bad of a diagnosis.

A few happier pics, Simon invading Hobbes privacy, a few seconds before smackdown was dealt. He knew it was coming to, he never relaxed:

We met a new neighbor yesterday who's as much of a cat/dog person as Ms Boissal. She collects weird animals and has 2 of these smooshed-faced kittehs (bad pics, they're really social and want to be petted more than photographed). They looked permanently surprised:

We've been trying to find out if the new kitty I posted a couple days ago has a home or not. Last night we put a paper collar on him with our phone number, but he's still wearing it today. My wife got him into a carrier and took him to the vet today so they could see if he's chipped or not. Turns out he is, but there's no name assigned to it. Seems like if he does have a home he's not being treated too well.

Updating an existing chip can be a PITA and people often skip it. I tried to do it when I adopted Bella-dog and it there were so many hoops I gave up and made sure she always had her collar. Ugly had a blank chip when I had him scanned and it's still blank to this day.
I have no idea about your kitteh's situation but the lack of info on the chip isn't necessarily a bad sign for his well-being. Plus it makes it easier for you to adopt him, you took all the steps to find his people but couldn't make it work and kitteh chose you!
