She has some time. Is she losing weight? Drinking a lot of water?

She is fur stretched over bones at this point. She did drink a little this afternoon and the food I give her that she nibbles at is wet. She's been battling hyperthyroidism for a couple years now. I had her on meds until I she started having issues with it so I took her off and she seemed to do fine.
I just took this pic of her. As you can see she isn't keeping her coat clean anymore - white isn't white anymore.

Sad to hear, KQ. I'm sure her life is great with you. I went down this exact path with my 20 yr. old cat. Hyper T and all that comes with it.
Here's a friendly thought for the time ahead - remember to keep her comfy, many beds/favorite spot and not too much up/down. Movement lessens, stiffness. Food with gravy is best as even soft food becomes too much. Throat is not up to much food anymore or cleaning her fur.
Keep her warm, loving touches. maybe a brush or combing.
Watch for breathing changes.
This was the hardest part for me. Good wishes to you. Godspeed Alice Kitty.

Alice update:
Not sure what was going on with her for the last three days. Yesterday I thought for sure she was going to pass. Could barely stand, wasn't eating, barely drinking, vacant look in eyes, labored breathing, laid around with her eyes open like she was dead (had to keep checking to see if she was breathing).
This morning she showed interest in breakfast and I noticed she'd actually used the litter box (had a very small "movement"). After eating she laid around in the house all day not moving much (I had her in a dark room with the AC on) but gradually I could tell she was becoming more alert lifting her head with more control and her eyes had a bit more light in them too - didn't look so vacant and dead.
Just now she came in the kitchen and loudly meowed at me demanding to be fed! Her eyes are much brighter and her gait is steady.
Anyone? Did she suffer a stroke? What? I was *this* close to taking her in to put her down because she seemed so bad. She didn't act like she was in pain though her breathing was labored at times and moving even a little seemed to exhaust her. I just thought nature was taking its course. Granted she's still pushing 20 and I know her days are dwindling but still this is vexing.“When you see something that is not right, not just, not fair, you have a moral obligation to say something. True-true!
Ugh... there is a woman who has been posting on a local Lost & Found Pets FB page that her mother who has dementia got rid of her cats. One cat she had a man take and drop off in a field somewhere and other she's not sure what he mother did with it. So sad on so many levels.“When you see something that is not right, not just, not fair, you have a moral obligation to say something. To do something." Rep. John Lewis

A couple days ago driving along a 4 lane blvd in town. I and the car adjacent notice something struggling in the street. It's a small kitten. We both park, stop traffic, and get out to help. The lady runs and grabs him; she was quick! He might have rear leg injury but he seemed perky. Glad I helped but kinda glad I don't have another castaway. I'm on my third castaway now and they all have had personality issues.
