Normal tail.
Chao not a lap sitter either. He does stay in the same room with me but keeps his distance.

Kitty Stoke
Jackson (after JHMR) is still hiding in various area but peeks out when no one’s around to eat, drink and use bathroom.
I expect to see more cat siting next week or so and eventually have a full time cat in the house.

New cat is getting braver.
I was actually able to touch it today but I had to wear gloves because it was swatting at me. Not aggressively but swatting just the same. Looks to be about 7 months old. My house cats (indoor/outdoor) are mildly interested/irritated. Goal is to tame him so he can find a home. Humane Society won't take ferals.
He's not as big as he looks in this pic:

That is a beautiful cat, but he looks very wary.

That's a good idea. I was just able to give him full on head scratches just now (wearing gloves) and he loved it. He had watched me petting my female while she rolled over for belly rubs and head scratches (he was purring the whole time he watched from about 2 feet away). It was almost like my female was showing him it was okay.
His markings are striking. If I didn't already have so many cats I'd keep him. He has run into the house a couple times when I've left the door open. I think he would be a good pet once he feels more comfortable with people.“When you see something that is not right, not just, not fair, you have a moral obligation to say something. Kitty Stoke
Day 3.
Little bugger started appearing more.
Played with feather fish pole and watching tennis on TV.
Got him a health insurance and made a vet appointment next Saturday.
Gotta get him comfortable enough to catch by then.

I live in northern VT. It is just a whisker away from being a temperate rain forest. If it doesn't rain for three days we wonder if there's a drought. Miss Mayhem loves the box of rain. I snuck out this afternoon during a sunny spell for a quick walk with the dog. The kitteh loves to try and sneak out while the door is open. She isn't cleared for outdoors yet by her lame humans. She needs a chip, her booster shots, and the flea and tick stuff. We are a little over-protective.
