So, I am hanging in the freestanding hammock in the backyard a couple hours ago and the 4 month old is apparently chilling on the grass below. A hummingbird came by and hovered to say hello, and all of a sudden he disappears in a blur, little man had it in the grass and then took off under the deck to play.
Kinda sad cuz I like hummingbirds, but part of me is proud for his first kill. I just wish I hadn’t had the cool little moment before the violent ending.

Yeah, I have a feeder on the side of the house with steady action for last few weeks. High enough to keep them safe. Maybe this one was coming by to say thanks.

This week's afternoon nap spot is the couch. You're allowed to touch him if it's for a front shoulder massage.

I don't understand why you think anything in your house is still "yours" with a cat around. It's ALL hers, she just tolerates that you occasionally use it...
Old Man Artie is pulling a weird one on us. As of yesterday he's gone completely mute. He's prone to long bursts of panicked meowing when his dementia flares up and he gets lost at the end of the hallway so it's not an unwelcome development. He sounded a bit hoarse a couple days ago then last night couldn't even hiss at me when I put him to bed, something he's REALLY good at. He doesn't appear to be in pain, he eats and drinks fine and roams the house as usual but can't make a sound. Ms B and I feel like assholes when we laugh at him silently moving his mouth...
Apparently kitties can get laryngitis and other upper respiratory infections and lose their voice. If it lasts another day we'll go to the vet but not before I get a video of him mouthing off.
