A Texas lawyer accidentally left a kitten filter on during a video conference call with a judge and was unable to change it, eventually responding to a judge’s query about why he was being addressed by a digital feline by saying: “I’m here live. I am not a cat.”

The girls in my house are bugging me for a 3rd cat. Really, I can barely move on the bed with two.

Gotta introduce my cat--we have a complicated relationship but overall we're a net positive for each other. He was given to us by a friend who found him in a cardboard box at the local fair grounds. He's got a big ol personality and we butt heads now and again but he comes when I call and likes to listen when I play guitar and I've never had another cat that does either. It's nice to have an opportunity to share some "stoke" because we spend a fair amount of time getting on each other's nerves, ha! He's used up a least a few of his nine lives--he survived being hit by a car when we lived in Seattle.

Anyways, here's Chilkat (named for the SE AK mountain range) or Chili for short. Last pic is him sleeping in his chair currently.

We had to downsize to a queen in our new old house with its small rooms. Our two cats always start the night taking up all the space my legs want.

He has a propensity to sleep in strange and uncomfortable looking positions and I never miss an opportunity to document. He would do the same to me if he could!

    such cute critters!

I only have one house cat who enjoys the snow/cold and still wants to go out. He's my lightest with feet like a snowshoe hare so go figure. He's also a long hair so has a nice insulated coat. I've seen him jump off the garden wall into a snow bank, rocket out of his bomb hole and shake it off like it was nothing.

The barn cats barely come out of their heated house.

The pumphouse cat is like a honey badger and doesn't give a shit about anything.

The shop cat is very confused and can't figure out how to get around even with all the shoveled paths. I think he can't see over the berms and he's REALLY fat so walking on the snow is not possible.

The new feral cat is out there somewhere. I never see him but he eats the food I put out. I don't think he's sleeping in the heated house I have set up for him on the back porch but it's there if he wants it.

He watched this documentary very intently for about 20 minutes before getting up for a better view. He watched like this for another 10-15.

The whole time he was thinking "bet I can take him".

I remember reading somewhere that the whole feline family is built using the exact same blueprint at various scales. They all have very similar anatomies, bone structures, etc... and a house cat is just a scaled-down tiger. Your cat knows it too, thus the attitude.

They do seem to have that big cat predator instinct built in. I believe that if Chilkat was larger he would have killed me by now on one of his off days.

I think he was just stoked to see his neediness and food FOMO recast as successful strategies.

    Who else plays this game.

How long can I stay still so I don't wake up the kitty?

I am about 40 minutes in and need to pee.
    And he weighs 20 pounds!
