All but one of my cats likes belly rubs and even that one seems to actually enjoy them because he get to rabbit kick and nip. My longhaired female loves to have her belly brushed.

I think this cat is confused.

Vehicle is fueled and loaded with provisions. I will be there in three days to help look for Ugly. I hope he can hold out that long.

Thanks for the concern everyone, TGR-kitty celebrity Ugly is back. He used to disappear for weeks at a time but he's been incredibly sedentary lately and not seeing him in his basked has been weird.
He just strolled in late last night absolutely covered in a mix of grass clippings, sticks, and a few spiky burrs for good measure. Went straight to his basket, stretched real good, insistently cleaned the one spot I petted while ignoring the 3 lbs of trashed velcroed to the rest of his coat, then knocked my tea to the ground with a 2nd stretch. He looked at the carnage with mild interest and went to sleep.
This morning he beat up Artie just because then settled on the couch to stress out the chicks in their brooder:
And yes, if anyone wants to come stay at Caste Boissal these days they'll have to share the guest room / bike storage unit / home office with 7 chicks and 2 or 3 cats who take turns watching over them.
I actually got asked about the peeping noises yesterday while on a call with India. They were a bit confused when I explained that we had chickens in the house...
Edit: forgot to mention that he's already managed to get locked in the chicken coop overnight. We move the brooder in there during the day when it's warm and open the door and windows. He snuck in for a nap and when Ms Boissal took the brooder back in she closed the coop for the night and didn't notice the cat curled up in there. She said that when she re-opened it in the morning he was awake and doing his stretches but didn't leave. Guess he wanted to resume his chicken watch. Weirdo.

Great news about Ugly!
I get stressed when our cat goes out on longer missions than normal - I think spring mania is hitting us all.

Ugly is like the cat version of the most interesting man in the world. Glad he's safe, and up to his mischief.

Ugly can not be contained. You can only hope to slow him down.
