Blood is bad enough but it’s pretty easy to clean. I don’t think pine tar gonna work.

Thanks for the words. He can get to his tail with this cone on but for now he just ogles it. He gets out of his cone 3 times a day for about an hour. Sometimes he stays calm and other times he wants his tail. As long as it is scabbed over he will want to bite it.

This soft cone looks uncomfortable but it smashes down so his head can rest. He’ll sleep in peace for hours with cone on and actually purrs. He doesn’t even fight me to put it on and looks for it when it’s off. Long way to go. Those last wounds were deep.

Not sure he can live healthy without cone on.

Shadow ne’e Square Face is a brute. His head is starting to get bigger as he is un-altered and probably a little over a year old. His weight has doubled since his first visit.

Man, I really dig Squarefaces look. If you were closer, I'd take him. And IIR he may be someone's pet. Never then.

Any chance Chao's issues stem from SF's presence? Maybe a nervous reaction to a potential challenger? I bet a scabbed tail itches, hence the want to bite it. Like scratching an itch, feels good but gets worse...

Shadow, the cat formerly known as Square Face is some neighbors cat. He shows up with a collar on every month or so. This is his vacation home. You can see his toy mouse in the picture. He only likes the grey ones.

Yes. That is Chao’s problem in a nut shell. He clearly has OCD feline hyperesthesia. He will groom himself to blood. It was my fault He got too threatened this time. I saw it coming.

    Chao doing ok.

Its with the heaviest heart that I report the passing of Oreo the cat.
She was hit by a car on Monday.
    And did not suffer.
She took us on journys that you would never have expected in a lifetime.
She has touched so many peoples lives.
    We miss her so much...

I often wonder if cats can cross over when they are sleeping. I'd like to think Miss Mayhem was helping Oreo chase after the big dogs this afternoon. She was a little twitchy in her sleep.

Chao got a hold of his tail. Not too bad but it’s a step back. He sure is cute.
