I need to review our home camera footage for some of that, I bet it's capturing dozens of over over/undershoots getting on or off furniture. It's shocking how bad cats can be at sticking landings sometimes.

We joke about how bad our cat is at being a cat.

My buddy's cat Tony. He was fat, lazy, and didn't give any fucks. He was horrible at being a cat. Ate shit repeatedly. And would just act like it was no big thing. RIP Tony.

Sorry for this post in the stoke thread, but we don't have it is just a cat thread.
We lost our Misty Gomez at about 7:50 am today. She was hit by a F250 darting across the road as reported to me by a neighbor.
We were walking the dogs when we got word. We ran home and found her. Thankfully a neighbor moved her out of the street.
Needless to say we are all crushed. I have a hole in my heart that will take a long time to heal.
Misty was only 3 years old and the most loving cat we eve had. She loved live as everyday was her best day ever.
I am having a hard time dealing with her passing and the nature of it. Forever in my heart. I will love you Misty Gomez.

And Miss Mayhem turned 3 in January. She plays chicken with the card on our street. My heart will probably be broken before long. I wish she'd read this thread. Don't be that cat

    +++condolences L2S++++

Everyone here is still missing Spiff, especially his brother. He howls a lot and demands a lot of gametime, but will not be consoled by laptime.

We have a replacement queued I hope, the damn kitty pound won't commit until they're the kittens are old enough to put up for adoption. At that point, it's a crapshoot.

Trying to figure out how to avoid the issue (busy street next to me) besides having a house cat. All 3 of our cats have crossed the damn busy road. Poor Misty was 5 seconds off and paid for that with her life.
So what to do? I looked at fence-less systems to keep them in a certain area. The reviews indicate a fast move across the wire defeats it zapping the animal. Looked a GPS/wireless systems and all the reviews for reliable units indicate the tracker is pretty large for a cats collar. They can roam, but the system will alert you if they go outside you predetermined area. So far that seems to be my best way of tracking a cats movements and running to them if on the busy street.
Any other suggestions other than keeping them in the house?
    Thanks

As much as I dislike limiting their freedom, we kept this batch in the house.
There's no busy streets around us, but a lot of predators.

My fav cat of all time got eaten by a mountain lion.

Sorry to hear that Buster. I told my wife we may have to have house cats and she is pushing back, so just trying to find some options for limited outdoor access. Ya, I am dreaming.

It was about 23 years ago. So yeah, housecats now.

Problem is that the survivor is going nuts being bored and I'm the main entertainer until we can score another kitten. He's not a lap cat, hates to be held and is super inquisitive. So lots of string towing and box or bag games, but sheesh, he's 4+ and still wants to rage and play.
