One of our cats - Scout - was spayed on Friday, and has been suffering this indignity for a few days. I’ve taken the cone off a few times, but she immediately starts licking the incision, so back on it goes. In the meantime we are enjoying watching her bumping into things and generally being awkward...!

Nutmeg we’ve had both cats and dogs together at the same time, and the relationships have always been great. Cats and dogs learn to be good buddies.
she needs a suitical! Used one on my female when I got her spayed and it was fabulous. No cone of shame just a nice little onesie. She can still use the litter box, eat/drink from a dish and groom herself and I didn't have to worry about her pulling at her sutures which she was all over every chance she got. It kinda works as a thunder shirt too - she was pretty mellow when she had it on. If you order it I suggest not going up a size. It will stretch and if it's too big they can wiggle out of it.

Yup, we have had a cat with our dogs forever. The Malamute and our present kittie are best friends. Gunther wants to eat the cat, but he is well trained not to.

No... he's all barn cat it's just that my barn cats are pets too. That is the cat door into the tack room. I have to keep the door closed because the cat food is in there. If I leave it open the magpies eat it all and shit everywhere. There is also a cat door in one of the main breezeway doors because I close the barn up at night to give the cats a safe place to sleep.

This is such a cool place...

    Old cats, young cats
    Big ones and wee ones.

Traveling cats, not so travelers too.

Cats that come to you, others that rarely do.

    Dog buddies and significant others,
My love, Farina and Sister ( Double happiness)

    Whoo hoo!

Love how he/she is hiding but not waiting and watching. What does your cat think about this visitor?

That’s a great idea. If only we’d have known before surgery, this might have been an option. At this point it probably wouldn’t arrive until it’s too late. The reality is that Scout is one of those cats that jumps and climbs on EVERYTHING (and wrestles with our other cat). The cone messes with her head just enough that she hasn’t been doing her usual crazy stuff, which is probably for the best! Soon enough it will be back to business as usual.

Oops - didn't catch the plural in your post. I thought the one back by the car was the interloper and the one up close was your cat. Well... looks like they found you and you them!

My house cats have taken a liking to cilantro.

When I buy cilantro I typically wash it and put it in a glass of water on the counter. Well the cats have discovered it and are eating. Every time I turn around one of them is up there plucking a stem from the glass and secreting it off somewhere to devour.

    Who knew, cats like cilantro.

I found out from Bones III that cats will swallow small birds whole. That's how he would puked them up. Whole. Just like Sylvestor in the cartoon. I saw him do it once when he thought I might take it.

I swear one of my big males unhinges his jaw and inhales his kills. It's amazing.

LOL @ "Bones III". I think you need to name your next cat Dr. McCoy.

Walked out the front door this morning to find an eviscerated mouse ‘gift’ on the front step. Kind of gross, but I dug it.

    Dam it!

Taking Mr. Kitty to the vet in 30 minuet's

at first I just made an appointment for tomorrow . But then I petted him and he growled, not normal.

So here we go again. I might be receptive to listening about diet and such. Maybe I'm am just paranoid, but I know him pretty good he's fucked up again.

Sounds like what I went through. He had a mild crystal issue and vet told me to switch to that food I posted above but he was picky and wouldn't eat it and I didn't push hard enough then he got another crystal that was bad. Luckily he passed it (with some help from me) and after that I stopped messing around with his diet and he agreed switching over eagerly to the C/D Urinary Tract food. After that he never had another issue.

    Hope he does okay.

I am just home for an afternoon at the VET.

Mr. Kitty now has a plastic drain tube sicking out of his Blatter, and a bandage on front arm coving a catheter.

I have to take him back in the morning for IV fluid treatment.

So he just going to leak pee wherever he lays for awhile.

I was right about him, vet said his bladder is full of crystals . He was really messed up.

    I hope this gets better.

not that it really matters but today wiped out my checking account.

Sorry to hear that but at least he is still fighting. Did the vet say anything about diet?

Yes he did, Mr. Kitty is going to get very specific food for this issue.

I am heading down to PetSmart to fill the prescription shortly.

His food going forward requires a prescription from the vet.
