Old Man Artie is pulling a weird one on us. As of yesterday he's gone completely mute. He's prone to long bursts of panicked meowing when his dementia flares up and he gets lost at the end of the hallway so it's not an unwelcome development. He sounded a bit hoarse a couple days ago then last night couldn't even hiss at me when I put him to bed, something he's REALLY good at. He doesn't appear to be in pain, he eats and drinks fine and roams the house as usual but can't make a sound. Ms B and I feel like assholes when we laugh at him silently moving his mouth...

Apparently kitties can get laryngitis and other upper respiratory infections and lose their voice. If it lasts another day we'll go to the vet but not before I get a video of him mouthing off.
My girl Meghan can only squeak or make a whisper/breathy sound. Always been that way.

Romeo one of my barn cats was mute until he turned 10.

Miss Mayhem is pissed at me. She was flopping around in the garden and coming very close to crushing freshly planted starts. So I gave a warning shot with the hose. Unfortunately she caught a few drops. I have never seen such a look as she gave me. Absolute rage combined with "as if". I hope she doesn't sulk outside all night.

You could throw just about anything in there and let your wife take the last pill.

Miss Mayhem spent the night outside. I heard some crying early this AM. I think one of the kids let her in because she was asleep in her chair when I got up. She's a wild beast.

Omar and Lucy aren’t supposed to be on the table, but when it’s lilac season and they snuggle like this they get away with it

Moody teenage lady cat is moody. But will only make a stand as long as she's not hungry or cold.
Hobbes used to do the same and at some point decided her comfort was worth dealing with the occasional hassle from me. I'm sure she'd like to murder me in my sleep but hasn't made a move yet.

Max just loves to sleep on his back. I don't know if you can tell but he's a big boy weighing in at around 20lbs.
