Where are these toys made? Where does the rabbit fur originate from? I don't see any info here or on the company's website.

Answer:These toys are by products of the food industry. Other countries use rabbit for food like we use chicken here. The scraps of fur are used to make other products like cat toys"

Similar to how leather is made. I worked at a tannery that made automotive leather and the hides were byproducts of the meat packing industry. At our peak in ~ 2001 we were taking in over 5,000 heavy native steer hides per day, We visited a slaughterhouse to see the process and nothing from the steer goes to waste. Nothing.

You called it, he slowly crept over to Artie and got him off "his" couch with a brutal swipe. Had to toss him outside in the snow so he'd cool off a bit. He's been a real asswipe lately, probably because he's cooped up too much. He swipes at Ms Boissal whenever she goes by and he bit me yesterday when I pushed his furry ass aside so I could sit.

We have a bunch of scratching posts but they only go for the couch and one of the door jambs. We found these angled scratching posts that fit perfectly on the couch arms and the kitteh army loves it!

Same at the house, 2 of our 4 assholes can only groom themselves on the bed in the dark. It's not like they have busy schedules and can't get to it during the day.
Simon will sit at the door and scream until someone lets him in, walk all over us for a minute, take a 15-minutes bath, then stroll back to the door and scream to be let out. We tried leaving the door opened but he's like a freakin' wampire, he won't come in until I get up and invite him in.
Last week we ignored him for 20 minutes and he finally went away. When I got up he had chewed the stem of the only flowering plant in the house and basically taken it down. He hates being ignored and always goes after the plants...

I brushed Toki's stomach today without getting scratched, you get an award for that right?

In more serious news Fluffles has had an allergic reaction to something and it's causing him to scratch at his face. Badly. There's a completely raw spot on his cheek, a bit smaller than a quarter.

Vet prescribed oral prednisolone to counteract the itchiness, and topagen to treat the wound. However he keeps scratching it, as I expected. I asked about a cone but they said the prednisolone should start acting quickly (we're on day two) and he won't have the urge to lick so it's not needed.

So far that's not the case. Also, even if the original itchiness does go away, I assume as it scabs over that will be itchy..

So if I do get a cone, are there any tricks or strategies to help him get used to wearing the thing?

We’ve brought another rescue kitty into our household. Her name is Dr Brenda-Leigh Marshmallow, and she came from a hoarding situation. She arrived at the shelter malnourished, with rotten teeth and an infection in her eye. 24hrs later, she gave birth to a litter of kittens. As soon as she was healthy enough, they removed her rotten teeth, spayed her, and unfortunately they were unable to save her eye.
So we now have a cat with one eye and two teeth to go with our other cat that only has 12 toes.

Definitely more character with missing parts. When our beloved Cocoa passed away he had no teeth, no balls (previous owner), no claws, no ears (frostbite) etc.

Regal-looking best, I love black kittehs with a white chest patch. The one eye gives her character and probably doesn't slow her down one bit. Good on you for adopting a cat that would have probably languished in a shelter!
