^^^Earlier this summer she tracked one around the room as it stayed close to the ceiling. Then it dropped down to maybe 5' off the floor. She leaped off one of the chairs for it, narrowly missed, and slid headlong into the base of the stairs.

He got the handle of the bag stuck around his neck. Ran like crazy and tear the bag off.

Damn. Glad he was just startled and pissed off. We got a break-away collar for our cat. We want her to wear one, but don't want it to strangle her. We do want the birds to hear the bell on it. And it helps us find her too. Our toy poodle was snacking out of the dishwasher once and got his collar caught on a rack. That was quite a commotion. It didn't smarten him up any though. He still helps himself if we leave it open.

This one time one of my cats got his head into the carrying handle-holes of one of those cheap-ass thin disposable plastic shopping bags that are getting outlawed all over the place. First I saw of it was him hauling ass like he was on fire thru the living room with the bag inflated over his back, scared as fuck. Maybe you had to be there but I laughed so hard I was barely able to catch him and pull his head out of the handle-hole.

We were at Humane Society to donate towels, blankets and money.
As usual we visited cats and dogs for some fur time.
This little guy was so scared and uncomfortable in the cage we had to bring him home.
    No name yet.

    He was not happy there.
Few months old, got separated from siblings and been at the shelter past couple months.
He was sitting in a litter box and won’t interact with any cats or people.
    Had to get him out.

Grey cats are typically quiet and gentle. Thanks for stepping up.

Square brought the handle from the bag back this morning. Left it on the doorstep.

    Woot! Kitteh in the house!

The look on his face reminds me of Oscar from Sesame Street:

    Good on you.

It might take time but I bet he will become happier and more affectionate.

Speaking of cats getting their heads stuck in things.... Juliet the barn cat's curiosity go the better of her one day:

He’s sitting in someone’s lap - a big leap of faith for your kitty.
Squeak will not sit in anyone’s lap, even after eight years with us.
Is he really kinda green, or is it the ambient light that gives him that hue?
