DAMN IT....Dr. ended having to remove 80% of right knee's medial meniscus. We were expecting 50%. It's the same meniscus that was damaged 2 yrs. ago (they put back the displaced meniscus) and the scope reviewed the sutures that were used then. The tear was inside the sutures, so at least it was healing. Since the meniscus isn't being "repaired", there is a lot less swelling due to a lack of induced blood flow.
Now just worried about the upcoming swelling/pain. Hopefully with a planned weight loss (6'2", 225 lbs) and increased flexibility, that will hold off for many, many years.
I know that feeling of coming out of anesthesia and hearing that you're minus a chunk of shit that's not good to lose.
At least it was the suck for me. Losing my medial meniscus put my knee joint out of line and kicked arthritis into gear. It was all so sweet before I reinjured it.
