I usually prefer to ride my bike, not run next to it.

Trust me - I feel the same way. They announced that it would be a cyclocross style start about 10 minutes before the race....

And I don't think I've ever tried jumping on my bike while running before. I figured it would work something like when you wreck in a race and jump back on your bike - but yeah - not so much. My start was pretty damn comical - I might as well have stopped and gotten on my bike like a normal human being. But the rest of the course (minus the climb) was fun as hell, and I guess I made up for my lack of cyclocross skills once the SD course crossed onto the Sport DH course.

I'm off to work on my cyclocross steeze in case they throw that in again for Mt. Snow...

congrats- nice work!! i just got a syren too! but in white.....
I kind of want to get one of those seat posts too- do you find you use it much while you're actually on the saddle?

Yeah - it depends on the trail. If you're riding stuff where you've just got a long climb and then a long descent - I'd just use a regular seatpost with a quick release. But for trails that are more rolling and you're going back and forth between techy descents and climbs that are too long to just stand and hammer up, I really like it. Definitely helps keep me from abusing my knees pedaling with my seat way low.
