    MS Word Gurus, please assist

I have a document that I drafted for a client. He will likely be using it for numerous transactions that will all be exactly the same, sans some name changes here and there. I would like to insert a box of some sort where the names should go that indicates that he needs to make an entry to alter the document.

For example, I will have a box that says [insert Investor name here]. He can click the box, the text disappears and then he types in what he likes and the box disappears. Clearly, I could just have him erase the indicator language and supplant his own, but I thought there was some function that allows for text entries and prompts. Am I crazy?

I also have Word Perfect on the puterbox, assuming that program would do the trick.

Come on, dude, you should bill him 1.5 for cutting and pasting every time he needs new documents!

Well at the very least, he will see an entry on his next invoice that reads "Consulation with TGR."

The meter runs until I get a solid answer.

something with mail merge would work, but probably would be overkill

try messing around with Insert > Quick Parts > Field (I have office 2007).

or what about teaching him about find & replace?

I will try those first two out.

As for find and replace, I will go that route if I can't figure this out. The doucment is pretty dang hudge, so I think his main concern is that he doesn't miss an area that needs to be altered. When I told him it would only cost him $225.00/hr for me to replace the entries, he was moderately hesitant.

a PDF that can be user corrected...? Lot of government forms use this now as it doesn't tend to adjust the formatting in the rest of the doc...

acrobat is definitely the best way to do this, completely prevents him from altering anything he's not supposed to
