Right on, I wasn't exactly sure about Cormier but a quick wikipedia search showed this....
He competed at 96 kg, or 211.6 lbs. At the 2004 Olympics he took 4th place after losing to Khadzhimurat Gatsalov in the semi-finals.[17] Cormier was also a member of the 2008 Olympic wrestling team for the USA, where he was named team captain, but was pulled from competition due to kidney failure, brought on by excessive weight cutting.[18]"In a perfect world I'd have all 10 fingers on my left hand, so I could just use my right hand for punching."

Nope. Vick is for real. Hopefully Gaethje mixes things up a bit. His fights are entertaining but increasingly cringe worthy. Who are you picking?

Yeah, picking Vick as well unless like u alluded to, Gaethje brings in more tools. Peeps say he's got some high class wrestling so let's see it. I find the stand and bang stuff boring. Just hoping for a good long entertaining 5 rounder and no early finish.

Not UFC but a guy my friend has trained with for years, Kendall Grove, is in his first professional Bare Knuckles fight tonight.

We didn’t see anything different from Gaethje cause he did not need anything new and the fight did not last long enough for him to showcase anything new for that matter. For some reason I really enjoyed seeing Vick get KTFO. And happy as well that Gaethje didn’t eat a couple hundred shots like he usually does.

Best comment goes to Florian: folds him like fresh laundry.

He is fascinating because, while he is a national-level elite wrestler and so has great takedown defense, he is about as one-dimensional as they come and his main skill as a striker is standing close enough so one punch is less likely to knock him out. His punches are loopy. And, with everyone knowing exactly what he will do, he still is like a chainsaw for everyone except the very best in the sport.
Hopefully he takes 4 or 5 paydays, with a percentage of PPV, and then becomes a retired chainsaw.

That Gaethje/Vick fight was interesting. I PVR'd the fight and watched a few days later, knowing that Vick got KO'd in the 1st.
Vick did not look confident standing across the ring from Gaethje. And once the bell rang, he looked almost scared.
But that Sandhagen/Alcantara fight on the prelims was amazing. How Sandhagen didn't tap was beyond me. And then to bring those elbows afterwards. Not too many fights will have me standing in front of the TV cheering, but that one did.

I saw a post-fight interview with Gaethje and was wincing with the way he was struggling to express himself. Sometimes that's just from getting a bit concussed during the fight, but he really should keep to his plan of only 4 or so more fights I would say.

I find myself pulling for Chuck....to suffer a broken hand two weeks before the fight...so his CTE doesn’t get any worse.

Yeah, I don't want to see that fight.
I was happy to see Jake hang them up last weekend. He's been on the losing end of too many wars. Just like Diego Sanchez. As much as I like watching him fight, I don't want to see him take any more damage.

^agreed...hopefully Till comes out banging & we get a fight. Interested to see what happens if Woodley gets Till on the ground

I tend to think that Till can box Woodley as effectively as Rory McDonald did. Woodley could knock him out coming in, if Till tries to rush him, but I expect Till to be smart, and win by decision.
