For the next Mad Max movie in the franchise they should base it on a post apocalyptic Paris with the scooter riders/drivers. The stand-ups, sit downs, electric, gassers - these motherfuckers are insane.

They'd be killing eachother over water more than gas if that was a real scenario.

I've got a top speed of 45mph and well over 100 mpg. Under 50 ccs so I can ride it anyplace a bicycle is allowed. Genuine Roughhouse FTW..

It's crazy how people zip around on scooters in European cities, dodging around buses and trucks, etc. I can understand why they need nationalized health care.

I love my scooter. Vespa GT250Super. ~70mph. It would be the perfect ride in Manhattan, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome and/or Madrid. Works great. Low maintenance, but not easy to work on.
I just changed the battery, oil and plug

For $800 more, I could have had a new Triumph Bonneville. Sometimes we do stupid things.

Those old scooters look good but I think something from this century is better, escooters have come a long way.

Rode one around Rome a few weeks ago and it was a blast. Dangerous AF with how they drive, but one of the trip highlights.

See the rental models scattered all over the outside of town.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I laughed cuz that description is right on. Walking around a bunch in Italy, I definitely wanted a scooter more than a car in the big cities.

At this point what makes more sense: a scooter or an ebike? Those ebikes tool around quite effectively.

depends what max speed you want to hit. Moped scooters like early in this thread are much more comfortable at 40-50mph than bikes/ebikes imo

I looked at ebike's for the past couple of months and they are limited to class 2, around 750 watts which gets you up to 28mph with pedal power. I looked at Cannondale, Trek, Santa Cruz and they were are limited with basic components, looking at spending $4k to $6k then I found HPC bike and they can go 55mph 3000 watts for around the same price but technically you can only use them on private land.

I needed something for around town but didn't want to spend $6k then another $2k to replace the battery in seven years so went with a Apollo scooter, easy to replace parts and battery is $500 to replace after 5 to 7 years. escooters you can ride anywhere, I fly by cops on the sidewalk going 30 +, nobody cares because it's a stand up scooter.

Where do you store the helmet when you're grabbing the groceries (or beers) and where do you carry the cargo on the way back home?

Personally I'd worry about dumping that thing at 30 mph. Seems like a bike or sit-on scooter would be way safer.

Wear a backpack, probably not going to be riding totally shitfaced, I’ve done that with bikes and skateboards, usually ends with a crash.

Nobody gives you grief riding these on the sidewalk if you want to take it slow. Personally I like zipping around at 30mph+.
