Putting your dog to sleep.
...making the decision is so damn hard. Even when you know it's the right thing to do.
"Honey" (white american eskimo in the pics) had a great life.
She had her first chicken burrito from Baja Fresh today. She was happy
this vid about says it. yep.
Goodbye girl.

I am sure she was lucky to have you as her human.......
I have a good friend who is facing this decision soon.....i lived with him when he brought his pup home and forseveral years after that. Its tough-but i remind him he has taken her with him on more adventures then a lot of humans get to enjoy.

Sorry to hear it...I know the feeling, and don't want to have to go through that for a long time. Hope you are doing OK.

It sure is a tough decision, and never easy. I have to deal with it on a daily basis, so if you have any questions, or if I can be of any help shoot me a PM.
Peace

Jesus that sucks.
Vibes to you and Heaven for Honey. That was one cute pup.
hutash - what do you work at a vet clinic or something? You're stronger than I. Seriously, I'd rather get lymphoma or something than lose a furry buddy.

Such a tough decision to make, sorry you had to do it. Having to put our girl down was the second hardest thing I have ever had to do. The first being telling my kids where the dog went. I'm welling up just thinking about it.

Peace to Honey and vibes to you Laces. I will be making the same decision shortly unfortunately. Memories are near and dear to the heart so cherish the ones you have. Chicken burrito...that was a good call. Nice video and shed a tear...just had to give my gang a hug. When the time is right you can make a new addition to the family to share more love and give another friend a loving home.

that sucks man, really tough to do.
i had to put down my dog last summer, my biggest regret is being a wimp and waiting too long. i kept hoping she would take the decision away from me. i really should have done it a week sooner."They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

So sorry Tyrone. It's a truly horrible thing to have to do.
Probably the most/only traumatizing experience of my childhood was being dragged screaming from my first doggy friend Selina when she'd had a second stroke in 24 hours and Mum & Dad were going to take her to the vets for the last time.
I blubbed just as hard when we had to put Max down at only 5 years old
It still hurts...embaressed/guilty to say that for me Max was more painful than losing a parent. It's the shear, shitty, unbearable responsibility of it.Last edited by PNWbrit; 05-22-2008 at 07:34 PM.

That's so hard to think about. I lost a great friend to an automobile because I couldn't take him to his death in a manner he deserved.
He deserved better and I fault myself for not being able to make the call.
Then you have to weigh his desire for his next breath. They count on us to make the call for their benefit. I feel I made my dog suffer because I couldn't take him to his death. and the guilt follows me to this day.
Good luck . Many of us have this difficult time in front of us and have passed it before .If I had it to do again ,and I will, I would sack up and do what you know is necessary and the best for a loving companion.Last edited by Jack; 05-22-2008 at 08:17 PM. I'm sure Honey had a good, easy life with you as her owner. It is never easy putting down a best friend. Stella(my spoiled bitch of a dog) has assured me that all dogs do indeed go to whatever heaven there may be.

my mom's a vet, and i can say it can be almost as hard on them as it is on you. there have been a few days when she had to put down 4 dogs in one day and wasn't too cheery when she came home to say the least.
sorry to hear you had to go through that, i just gave chester a pat for you.

My condolences, a tough decision for sure.
I'm just a simple girl trying to make my way in the universe...
I come up hard, baby but now I'm cool I didn't make it, sugar playin' by the rules
If you know your history, then you would know where you coming from, then you wouldn't have to ask me, who the heck do I think I am.

I did the same thing with our beloved Grizzly (cat) last May. My oldest daughter still cries sometimes when she thinks of him. Grizzly was with us for 12 years, my daughter is 10 and he's always been around in her life.
