James McMurtry .... Just Us Kids
... he kind of snuck this one under the radar. Pretty good and definitely one of his best start to finish in a while.
check it out Woodsy ..."... she'll never need a doctor; 'cause I check her out all day"

cool thanks, heard one tune on sat radio last week, it rawked!!!
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

When he was playing in Driggs last summer, I said goodbye to him and his band (my office was their green room) ...He said "dude, go sell some houses!" (being facetious) so I replied "I will...go write some new songs!".
Well, see, here is proof he listened to me.Forum Cross Pollinator, gratuitously strident

I've skipped his last couple shows here because he has the goddamn latest start times...like advertised at 11:30. And this is at a great venue that usually has 8 or 9pm starts. I'm sorry, but I am too damn old for that shit.

Caught him 2 summers ago at an outdoor venue after the PBR in Big Sky, warm summer night, lots of stars, lots of cowgirls.
Been a fan since Too Long In the Wasteland came out and I'm Not From Here was dubbed the unofficial Park City UT theme song/anthem.
He was fun as hell live.I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Been to more James shows thank i cant count on both hands, and a fan of his music since the 2000ish.
Every once and a while I still find/hear a gem that stops me cold. As a western gent that moved to NYC, this first song just ran through me. although all 3 are good
Of course I sing along to this, so not surprising

Nice. Upon seeing this thread I began fearing the worst, hit the GooG and see he’s still here with us. I discovered him in the early aughts as well and saw him at the Zephyr club in Salt Lake City. Love this dudes music.
