    NASA wrap: nsr

today i replaced the Space blanket thats been at the bottom of my pack for around 4 years. my mom sent me one of the bivy-style space blankets to replace it. i was kind of horrified when i took the old one and opened it up. it was fairly delicate, easy to tear, and did'nt really have the coverage i'd imagined. the bivy style will address the coverage issue i guess, but as for durability, i guess i'll replace it more often.
does anyone have any real experience using a similar product in an emergency? i like the vapor barrier concept, but is a space blanket form fitting enough to work as such?

If you ever get to the point where you really end up needing it, you're probably fucked anyways.
