Wow. Espn is having a banner day.
I guess they fired all their editors because they're getting hammered for their coverage of the draft. The headline read this morning: Draft Takeaways - 3 teams overreach for subpar quarterback class; Browns fail again to land QB
Which is it fellas? Everyone overpaid for bad QBs, but you're damned if you didn't get one? What? I guess they changed the headline later after the heckling comments and articles on rival websites became too loud.
Then I find out that they're not even going to develop their own content. They are paying to broadcast MLB network's Quick Pitch starting next week.I still call it The Jake.

They should bring back Aussie Rules football and swampboat races like in the old days.

Roller Derby. I'd pay for that. Gotta be multi racial.

That's just what espn needs, more racially charged arguments.

Honestly with their skeleton crew of employees and hemorrhaging budget, they should really consider listening to the ideas from online skiing and mountain lifestyle enthusiast communities like ours.

Credit to a comment on a deadspin article for illustrating everything that is wrong with TMZspn in one front page headline:
Non-stop LaVar Ball Coverage even when it deals with fucking high school basketball
I can feel that Pulitzer coming on any day now fellas. Keep up the good work.I still call it The Jake.

I watched some "professional bowling" on ESPN #1 yesterday for 5 minutes. Memories of Kingpin. This one dude had the biggest fro I have ever seen on a white person. Hilarious. People in costumes in he crowd of 70-80 people. All had green cups of some type of free drink promotion to get people to show up. Makes you feel a little bad if you were some legitimate talent who was recently downsized, yet the two announcing this event keep their jobs.
FYI, if you like Kingpin, you need to watch the pro bowling tour. Each week is like a sequel.

It's a shame what they've done to bowling.

Another reason why ESPN sucks... click-bait articles that appear to be written by 16 year old douchebags.

Oh, and I heard Tim Kirkjian talking about Jim Edmonds stealing signs from the catcher while he was playing CF. Really? Think about that, Tim.

I caught a bit of the Giant's game yesterday. WTF do they put that stupid fucking box to delineate the fucking strike zone? Do they really feel that viewers want that? Didn't they try that with hockey years ago with fail- the swoosh that followed the puck around? Fucking lame! Like that first down line used in football telecasts.
Daniel Ortega eats here.

Yeah, the box is fucking stupid. It is shamefully dishonorable and goes against the spirit of the game. If you want to see it, draw it on your own fucking TV with dry-erase markers. I used to have a red dot in the middle of my computer screen for some reason. They should just draw it on the ump's glasses.
The glowing puck I remember would light up like a comet when it was moving fast. I believe that was prior to the wide-spread use of HDTV, however. I didn't like the glowing puck but tracking down the puck on the old TVs could be maddening. HDTV has massively improved hockey viewing, at least for me, just for the simple fact that you can actually see the puck at almost all times. In the old days, I kind of spotted it by the way the players were acting and reacting.
I also remember an effort of putting glow in the dark strips on a football for an NFL (or USFL? XFL maybe?) game.
Re: Big Earn: The chick in Kingpin is absolutely SMOKIN'. No, not Munson's landlord, the other chick. If we're gonna wear uniforms, we should all wear somethin' different!

How do I hate thee ESPN?, let us count the ways
The NFL line of scrimmage is useful, as is the strike zone. The NHL's comet was more distracting than helpful. And HD really helped too.
"shamefully dishonorable"? get over yourself
[edit to add] I will concede it's not necessary on each pitch, but the summary of pitches is a good look at the at batLast edited by acinpdx; 05-30-2017 at 09:18 AM.
