That and their subs are still conundrums to me. Both excellent but found where you’d least expect it.

Best fried chicken I’ve ever had is at Serenbe Farms, a kind of Blackberry Farms style agri resort in Georgia (albeit on a much smaller level). Alton Brown and Oprah (take the second for what it’s worth) have both said it’s the best they’ve had.

    Would recommend.

Sounds like some expensive fried chicken.

Id say Prince's has better fried chicken than Publix. That's hot chicken though and different all together.

Publix is my grocer of choice. Not as pretentious as Whole Foods or Fresh Market and not a ghetto like Kroger.

Yeah it wasn’t cheap but it was pretty awesome chicken.

I could start a whole thread on the Whole Foods/Publix/Kroger/TJs problem I deal with on a weekly basis.

Just once I would like to not have to go to each one once a week.

There's this chain of kinda food/convenience stores like WaWa or Sheetz in this region called Royal Farms and for chicken you can buy at a place that also sells gas and condoms it's good as shit. Like crazy good.

when I was a kid before we had a KFC we had Chicken Delight, it was around till the late 70's then closed when the Colonel came to town. They kept another place open the next town over that I think is still there.

Another good place we had was The Broaster House, they used a pressure cooker/fryer thing to cook chicken, I think it may have been a franchise place with their own special cookers.

I don't know what the difference between a KFC cooker and a Broaster but I see you can still buy the officially trademarked Broaster equipment.

Back when Arlington Virginia was kind of a redneck slum there was Whitey's. Cheap beer and Broasted Chicken.

What region is that? I've never heard of Royal Farms

Mid-Atlantic. I'm in Maryland right now. Royal Farms are like south Jersey and PA, DE, MD and VA. Their website says they have 219 locations but I only know where like 5 of them are.

No Royal Farms down here. We have a ratty gas station that makes fantastic fried chicken, though. Across the street is an even rattier gas station. In the back a little Mexican lady makes tamales that will knock your calcentines off.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.
