Counertop Cruet Caddy?
Ok
Ive tried google searching for random terms which I thought appropriate but im not finding anything.
I have a cruet I use for olive oil for day to day cooking that I leave on my countertop next to the spice rack and salt\pepper mills
it looks similar to this
I want a caddy of some sort just for this cruet that does 3 things
1-Protects it from sunlight
2-Prevents any dripping oil from leaving a residue...although the one i have is a great design and its never done that yet
3-KEEPS THE DAMNED CAT FROM KNOCKING IT OVER
My idea was a simple wooden caddy, somewhat like a cupholder if you will, with a flared base to keep the little shit from knocking it over.
Something shaped like the end of a horn if you will.
If this doesnt make sense, ill paintbrush up a photo.
If I had a lathe, Id be more than happy to just make one myself, but I dont, so I cant.
Id also be agreeable to anything made from stainless, porcelain, or stone.
What should I search for or where should I look?
Ive tried searching for
olive oil caddy - turns up those metal wire racks at restaurants
oil cruet holder
holster
cupholder
countertop
etc etc etcLast edited by pechelman; 04-22-2008 at 10:11 AM.

simple solution: get rid of the cat.

"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin
"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy

Sounds like you are looking for an olive oily koozy.
We just keep our bottles in a high-sided basket that sits next to the stove and holds oils, vinegars, salt & pepper mills, etc. Keeps it from tipping over, keeps it out of direct light, and keeps it from dripping onto the counter.

well my salt and pepper mills dont ever tip over and i have a little thing under them to keep grounds off the counter
the cat never messes with those, probably because theyre twice as tall as he is
so really i just need something for the oil
i know ive seen something like this before, but i cant dig anything up
edit
something like this i supposeLast edited by pechelman; 04-22-2008 at 11:37 AM.
