I would not do much other than get if working again. Congrats

Collectors look for all original condition. If it looks like it was tampered with it kills the value.

My Little Scout .22 is from 1914. Should I trust it won't blow out the breach while shooting it?

That would not be a concern for me with a .22

Mine is a good quality original. I'll mount it in a frame with hooks and make nice coat rack. Thanks A rifle with a 14 1/2 barrel and open sight is a bitch to aim anyway.

Yep, Mr. Browning was a pretty sharp cookie. The list of firearms he designed is pretty extensive. Supposedly, on the military guns, he donated the patents to the government for the war effort. A few are the 1911 .45 auto, 1917 watercooled machine gun, 1919 beltfed machine gun, and M2 50 cal.

Probably one of his most notable guns is the Auto 5 shotgun. Was the gold standard of shotguns for years.

Back in 2008 his house in Ogden was for sale.

My dad said that the BAR was a great tool. Heavy as fuck to haul it up the mountain with a 500 round ammo can. But worth the effort.

He was right, he just would have been happier with a BREN given the chance.

Running 12 miles in 3 hours with an 80 lb pack for 6 weeks with a purpose would get one in shape.

Here is a Marlin Rockwell BAR we had a while back. It was my Dad's favorite gun when he was in the army. He fired this one and chipped a bone in his elbow on the shooting bench. I cannot imagine lugging this thing around all day with a bunch of magazines. Nor can I imagine lugging around an M60 or 240B with belts of ammo.

    GUNS!!!!!!!!

I built my first AR. Sort of not happy with the play between the upper and lower. Psa upper, Core lower. May try an Aero receiver at some point. Good learning project. Amazing design. Like the 20”.

Can't go wrong with Aero. They manufacture for a lot of the higher end names.

There is a device called an Accu-wedge that will tighten it up.

I saw you can also buy shims to put on the front pivot pin. Which do you prefer?

Is that the little rubber thingey that wedges behind the takedown pin? I tried using one in the past - wasn't thrilled with it. Ended up replacing the lower with a Mega which has a small set screw to take up any play between lower & upper.

CE: Go with the Aero. They have the same type of set screw as the Mega's. You won't be disappointed.
