Said he would list them in August. And Said he would let me know when he listed them (Gunbroker.com)
    He didn’t let me know.

In early October I got a check for one of the rifles. No accounting of gross sales price, expenses of sale or his commission. Just a check.

After a month of several emails, text messages and phone messages I got a text three weeks ago saying he realized he didn’t pay me for all of the guns and would do so “as soon as possible”.

Haven’t seen anything. Seems quite possible that’s plenty of time to provide an accounting and send me a check.

So my patience is kinda exhausted.

Question is, do I have any recourse other than through small claims court? Can I complain thru BATF to put pressure on him?
    Other avenues?

    TIA
Nothing specific to firearms. FFL should actually help because he has to have record of when he sold your guns. But I don’t think anything about this is unique to firearms. Did you sign a contract for consignment?

You could call a lawyer and see if you can threaten his FFL?

That's horrible advice. Ammunition has gotten expensive these days and he's already trying to recover funds. Lawyer might be cheaper.

    GUNS!!!!!!!!

    Hey TBS,

    Next time use these guys:

    https://www.rockislandauction.com

My brother and I are in the process of liquidating our late fathers gun collection. Over 200 civil war and late 1800s western firearms. Many maggots who visited me when I lived in Big Sky will remember some of the lever action guns on my wall, including a civil war Henry rifle.

We have been selling them with Rock Island Auction and are having good results. They do charge a hefty commission, but they are upfront about it, and the invoices are accurate to the penny. Plus it’s fun to watch the auction in real time.

I just got another ACH in my bank account the other day from them. Bought some new DPS skis.

Been studying the tales of the resistance and what amazes me is how little fire power or skill is needed to be on the offense in a conflict vs the defense.

Yup. Our SOF guys often study Comanche tactics as part of their training. The Comanche effectively neutralized an entire Spanish army in Texas while being completely outgunned and often outnumbered.

They’d kill scores of them (supposedly thousands) without loosing an arrow simply by stampeding the Spaniards horses while they slept, leaving entire battalions to die in the plains of West Texas without water or food. They’d then trade the stollen horses for weapons, sometimes with Spanish merchants.

They’d would never get greedy—they’d hit hard and run, even forgoing the opportunity to finish a battle in order to preserve their numbers. And brutality was simply a native language to them from centuries of warfare with other plains Indians. Spanish patrols would often find the remains of their soldiers, unspeakably tortured and often mutilated, and the fear was taken back to their camps.

It was a combination of smart tactics, brutality and discipline that defeated one of the greatest armies on the planet at that time. Not all that different than Vietnam for us or Afghanistan for everyone. And to your point, they definitely didn’t win via firepower.

My sibling has a few guns here in AZ that my parents want me to take with me back home in the morning as she is now in hospice care.

What are the legalities of this? Anyone got more insight here than I?

Report him to Gunbroker and they will suspend his account.

I tried buying some guns from a collection recently and the dealer had a bunch of shill bidders running up the cost. I reported him and they suspended his account.

Go to gunbroker.com to the right of the search bar is "advanced search" click there. The click the tab that says "completed sales" scroll down to "seller" and see if you can find his account. If you do, you should be able to find your guns and see what they brought. If you know what kind of guns they were, you can also do a general search in completed sales.

They will require you to link in the sales to file a complaint.

Gunbroker info on completed sales kind of gets deleted after a few months so do it sooner than later. You won't get item info at all and you are hosed!!!

You are looking for stuff like this.

You should be able to see what the seller sold it for.
You should be able to see if he had sham bidders as well but he may have covered his tracks and bought some small stuff with the accounts.
