Particularly more awesomer since it was Canadian sniper... as is most other of these guys reaching out and touching someone at long distances.

Anyone know what rifle and optic one would use to shoot a guy at 3k+ meters?

Most likely a C14 (PGW .338 Lapua) with a Leupod optic on top.

    System specs:

Edit: News reports seem to indicate that the sniper was rocking a McMillan TAC-50

0.5 MOA is impressive. Gotta love taking a shot and having time to grab a cup of coffee before coming back to see the hit. I've never shot out much beyond 1000 yes and that was very tricky. Three times that is amazing.

Someone... Find me either a fix or an alternative. Similar money, smallish frame, plink friendly (not a fkn 7.62 for fuck's sake) and still packs a bit of a punch on the other end.

Maybe a tavor, even though I think you'd probably be happier and better off in the long run with a nice ar15 carbine.

If you want a cheap plinking rifle for fun, just grab a 10/22. Infinite customization options, or you can just leave it stock. Probably the most 'practical' rifle you could ever consider. Hell, you could even get a bullpup kit for the 10/22 receiver if that's what you want.

Probably leaning the same actually, unless someone came up with something interesting I wasn't aware of. Handled a 15/22 recently which would be fun with the kids and was pretty damn cheap too. .22 mag is just a great round. Shit, maybe a PMR would be better anyways when I do want a mini mag. Less barrel = more fireball anyways and you still get 30 rounds.

I know of two separate private groups working on even longer range sniper rifles in .308 caliber.

Why on earth would they want to use .308?

Not a clue. I thought the same thing but never asked.
Seen footie of one of them being fired and engineering specs on the other.
Both parties said they were working on three miles. Ex-special forces guys looking for a govt contract, which I'm sure would be lucrative.

Well I would hope they are using a wildcat .308 rather than the standard round cause that is the only thing that would make sense.

15mm or even 20mm would be a more logical step up in a single shot anti material/personnel round.

In fact the Soviets used a 14.7mm single shot to take out Nazi armoured vehicles and tanks. This prompted the Germans to develop stand off armour plate.

    Sorry. I apologize.

I thought this was a discussion of Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine" documentary about mass shooting, guns and violence in the United States.

I see that it is a thread about being a dick-hole ass wipe.

    Carry on.

That non-NFA shorty in .410 or 20ga would be a hoot. Wait, let me guess, that would make it an NFA gun? The NFA rules could use a little house cleaning.

So, Beer Drinker comes over to PolyAss, where he reveals himself to be a little whiny bitch.

The numbers, don't back up your rhetoric. Go fight hunger in the US or Alcohol Abuse. That is, if your actual goal is altruistic, and not some talking point.

1% of deaths in the US, per year, are caused by firearms. It's a rounding error.

And stop cunting up other threads, because you have a certain viewpoint. No one cares about you that much, so cool it.

Or stay in Polyass with all the other losers.
This makes my point about braggarts with guns.

    Pussies.
