I have a normal TRP (minus the rail) that I love. Too bad I don't shoot .45 as well as 9mm yet.

Here you gonJoe, mines an older one that started off with a full rail. Springfield cut it back. With a little work it’s been a great gun for over 10 years with thousands through it. My gunsmith made me a spare extractor for it, but I’ve never used it, it’s still in the plastic in my range box. The only thing I wish was different about it is the adjustable rear site, I wish my gun had the sight in the picture above.

With proper 10mm loads there really is no comparison between 45acp & 10mm ballistics wise as the 10mm be still carrying more energy at 100yds than the 45 had at the muzzle. IMO, if you don't plan on handloading you are wasting your time & money with a 10mm since you're basically shooting 40sw at nearly twice the cost. The only real advantage to 45 that I can think of is the reduced recoil and wider availability of ammo.

I have a Delta, and I like it but I don't think it's a great value for a 10mm and it's got it's potential issues with hot 10mm loads - I'd recommend sticking to factory loads (or equivalent handloads).

I think the 3rd gen smith's are the best value option (although I hear mags are tough to come by and expensive these days) because they are reliable and built like a tank and will not have issues with hot loads. I use a 1006 to test new loads before running them in a DW Razorback. The new Springfield TRP in 10mm should be really nice too. I'm thinking about ordering one.

To be honest, a lot of people buy 10mm's on a whim and end up selling them. Which is just fine by me
Shhhh...3rd gen S&Ws are horrible heavy old fashioned steel behemoths that people find in their dads safes and sell cheap. Boat anchors.

    A few of my recent.
Not sure if I have posted these already, but might have.
Just got the Ed Brown Special Forces today.
It really is a fine pistol.
Smooth as butter. Put some lasers on it, to check accuracy, and 1st group was 3/4"@ 15yrds.

I also shot in a friends cz 527. It is a fine 204. It will scream.
Won't post load, but it is Moving, and 3/4 inch groups.
After I found what I think is top, I loaded it down to 4200fps.

Jeebus. That's a real barrel burning load. What's heading downrange? Hornady 32gr VMAX?

26 barnes.. It will hold up to the speed.
But I will say a 32grain Hornady at that speed will drill a hole through 3/8 steel plate.
I have found most any bullet will drill steel plate above 4000fps
I tested it with a 17, 204, 220 swift. Nice clean round holes. Hollow tip, plastic tip, or lead tip. Didn't matter.

So I traded for a built-up AR-15 and it came with a Leapers red/green dot sight. The sight works, but it isn't exactly an engineering marvel. Any recommendations for a reasonably-priced but decent quality dot sight? Have read reviews on Vortex, AT3, Holosight and Burris. Looking for something that nine out of ten dentists recommend.

Primary Arms/holosun Aimpoint micro clone if your wanting budget.

If you're truly a dentist, Trijicon MRO or Aimpoint T4.

That said I'd prefer a 1-6 or 1-8 on an ar15, vortex makes some nice stuff.

I have an Aimpoint PRO. I like it, cost a little over $400, no problems. My brother, who shoots less than me, has an Eotech that he paid $5 or $600 for, had to send his back to the factory for various problems. So I recommend Aimpoint.

My dad killed with a BAR. Clip fed. The first thing they did in the field was to strip off the bi-pod to lighten the load. Great tool for spraying death into the charging enemy while trying to hold Chiunzi Pass. If you survived.

I thinks it’s just the perspective in the photo. Looks like a 5” to me. No sure if Colt ever make a 6”. CC with a full size 1911 is easy. They’re relatively flat guns and if you get a good holster it’s a piece of cake. I do it almost every day.

It's full size 5"... and a great CC gun since it has the narrow profile and I'm a plus sized gentleman. But now I CC a Sig P320.

What is binary fire mode? Full auto loop hole. Saw some utueb shit on honey badger pistols. They behave like m4s

Took the first step in a new hunting build, ordering a Manners stock for a 6.5cm Tikka T3 Lite that I haven't bought yet. While it's a bit boring to essentially replicate the build on my 300WM, I just can't imagine buying anything else based on my experience with that Tikka.

    Will add:
    Trigger job
Aftermarket Trigger Guard to accommodate gloves
    Muzzle brake
    Extended magazine (5 shots)

Might try a Leupold on this one to add some variety.

My best friend (and shooting buddy) CCs a 1911. We've debated it several times. I just don't get it. Personal preference I guess.. I love the way it shoots, I just could't CC it. The width of it is (obviously) not the issue, the weight is for me. I CC a Glock that's 30oz loaded, a loaded 1911 has gotta be close to, what, 50 oz?

Plus theres the "bigger holes, or more holes" argument.. I say, more holes

6.5 X 55mm Swede? That's a round I'd love to play with, eventually. Perfect round for a Tikka!

6.5 Creedmoor. Reason is they're great shooters and I have about 2000 rounds sitting in my garage!
