No kidding. Good a reason as any to hope the war ends soon.

I'm thinking about a FAL these days. Maybe when that "economic stimulus" check comes.

glad this thread was made. I don't shoot much at all, (or know much) but love looking at guns.

Leroy, what kind of stuff gets shot with that 556? beyond target pistols, shotguns and basic rifles for hunting, I'm pretty clueless

The 556 is good for when a Blackwater knob comes up your drive uninvited.....plus it's fun to just go shoot. Makes up for the small penis.

Since this pic was taken, I've added a Sig Mosquito. The AR looks a bit different now too. Added an TA-31F ACOG, and a Tango Down grip and fore grip. The shotty also got a TD grip.

Cardboard boxes, stumps, and the occasional target.

I haven't found anyone to teach me how to hunt yet, but eventually I'd love to take deer/elk with the 556/fal. I know they're not the best tools for the job, but there is something that appeals to me about hiking through the woods with them, especially the fal. Id really love to hunt on skis in the late fall with the fal. That rifle just seems like it needs to get some snow on it.

Although if you're asking what these are used for in general, lots of people use 556's and ar 15s for rodents, coyotes, and deer.

EDIT: Is that an FN shotty ted? I'm sort of thinking of eventually geting an SLP. Nice Fal too.

Nice piece dude. Howas are REALLY great for the bucks. I've got the same with thumbhole in 22-250. I just shoot winchester white box from wal-mart.
Pretty hot load.....4000fps.....Haven't really taken it to the bench to really see how it shoots......but we hit alot of shit a looooong ways off.
    Got a Nikon scope too.

I really want that Sako trg 42 338......set up some 1000 yard stuff.
The only negative is you have to reload to shoot much......factory is like $80 a box. 300 win mag wouldn't be too bad either.

Shitty pic. Remington 700 5R Milspec in .308 with SWFA SuperSniper 10x Mildot scope and TI QuickCuff Sling.

Best so far, 0.5MOA at 600yards. The rifle can do better supposedly, I can't yet

No pics, but over here in the UK (where most Americans think we live in a gun-free regulated utopia):

    Anschutz XXIV .22
    Purdey (1883 vintage) 12b
    Kemen 20b
    AYA 20b
    Huglu 12b
    Fed Williams 12b Hammergun

    .243 on order

(Pics are the closest I could find)
AK-47 in 7.62x39, Ultimak rail and Aimpoint CompM2, does 2.5MOA at 100 yards

CZ P-01 in 9mm, carry gun

Saiga-12 combat shotgun, 10rd box magazine, Ace Ltd. stock

Marlin model 60 pawnshop special ($90), does 1/2" at 50 yards:

Wanting to get a Savage 10FP in .308, but bought the girl a dual suspension mountain bike instead so we can ride together. Might buy a Swiss K31 instead.

Indeed. But then I'll have to start reloading. 7.5x55 Swiss is like 60 cents a round nowadays.

But that straight pull bolt is heaven. (schick-shak)

Where do you Denver-area mags go shooting!?!? I haven't been at a range since I moved to Colorado - I'm talking about minimum of 300yards, preferably 600-800yards high power range?

Pawnee National Grasslands. It's a drive but worth it. Clear backstops out to 2700 yards plus. On a weekend there will be guys with .338 Lapua, .50BMG, and 20mm sniper rifles out there. It's a good place to do research with .308 at the transonic transition.

PM me if you want the GPS coordinates.
