Thumbs up Home Made Garbage Plate

With a little help from mail order food I had a slice of Rochester, NY in my kitchen last night.

I'm sorry, I don't remember granite counter tops at nicks.... . were you at the downtown location?

I do remember there were always hookers hanging around there, and the .38 that nick kept stuck in his apron.

    I'd say "yum", but.. well.....

I did say it was in my kitchen... I was thinking about picking up a homeless guy and have him stand in the corner while I ate just to get the feel but the wife wouldn't go for it.

Did you at least drink while you were eating "the plate"? I would think you might go for a Genny Cream Ale.. unless it's late April or May.. then it'd have to be Genny Bock Beer, in the puke green can!

I'm gonna be in the rochester for a few days in 2 weeks... perhaps I'll have to revisit Nicks! Thanks for the memory.

I had a beer but it wasn't Genny. I wouldn't even drink that stuff when I was a poor college student.

Mmmm, Genny Summer Brew, something like $9.99 a 30-pack at Marris. Amazingly horrible, even for a broke college student. It gave me an appreciation for Natural Light that lasted through graduation.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Lurch, grew up in harrisburg, but also spent a lot of time in State College.

KRP, sending stuff out huh? The main thing I crave from there is a sub from DiBellas... not one of the chains, or even worse the Wegmans version.. nope, I want a sub made by Joey, in the original Henrietta store. Dear god I think I can taste it. (If I recall it was at 420 Jefferson, and there was a reason it was 420)

Hmm.. Is Jay's Diner still around too?

Not dumb, just ignorant in the "NYC cuisine/garbage plate" area of expertise.

    DiBella's

I wish I could get that in the mail. Jay's was still there in 2000. I don't if it is there now.
