Can skis with heavy rocker effect gas mileage??
I have been watching the gas mileage getting worse in my car this season. Wonder if anyone else has seen a dip in mpg while carrying skis on the rack that are rockered with big twins.

if you don't have too many pairs, you could carry them side-by-side with all tips facing down.

Mount the ski rack on the very back of car, then mount skis perpendicular to axis of car for a "spoiler" effect... It would only take a couple hundred thousand dollars of research study to find out what angles/setup would help slipstream and increase your MPG?
If some of the best times of my life were skiing the UP in -40 wind chill with nothing but jeans, cotton long johns and a wine flask to keep warm while sleeping in the back of my dad's van... does that make me old school?

I'd try disabling your running lights and replacing your air filter before doing anything rash.

^^^That's only if you are just getting AM on the radio (unless you only have an AM radio, of course).

Ask MrZach about his take on this... although he is one of "those guys" that has a ski rack on top of a pickup truck.

Put your skis inside the car and take off the roof rack

For maximum efficency, just WEAR your skis while driving to the hill.

An A6 - why not use the ski pass through?
Hey, did anyone figure out how much mileage was affected by the daytime running lights? Like 1/2 mpg or something.

Come on guys. It's so simple. I think you need a refresher course. It's all ball bearings nowadays.
