    Alta Crew Does Timp 2-18-08

Got the call from DTM looking for beta on the East Ridge of Timp. Rather than spew a bunch of garble, we decided to just go with him and BumZ to ski it again.

Most asthetic line in Utah, in my opinion.

BumZ, on his new Dynafit/Lotus 120 rig. Oh no, a valued member of the HCAC on Dynafits? What has the world come to? Evolution happens slowly at Alta.

My brother has been in town for 24 hours. We skied short the day he flew in, now he's on Timp. Second tour of the year, fresh from sea level.

Suffering with blisters, on both feet, but determined.

    BumZ, floating.

The easiest approach to the best line in Utah.

DTM and BumZ, inspired by the alpine.

    Perhaps a little too inspired?

Bound and determined, despite blisters and a bit of altitude funk.

He's 6'6", I'm the runt of the family.

Making our way to the East Ridge.

"Dan, can you go just a little further left"

    DTM bringing Alta to Timp.

    BumZeeeeeeeee

My brother on his warm up run.

    DTM.

Leaving the ridge and entering the bowl below.

DTM, leaving the comforts of hucking all of Bad News to go bag some peaks in his spare time, and doing 7,500ft tours in alpine boots days before.

The hitch hike back would require a little luggage carry by myself and DTM.

Because of our efforts to help.........

But BumZ jumped ahead and stole the opportunity.......I'll let him tell his accounts of what transpired.

After BumZ ditched us, we made our way to Sundance to check out the line again.

We finally met up with BumZ in the Owl Bar for some beers and burgers. Why are you smiling BumZ?

    Carried her 'luggage'.

Since our last trip to Timp, we've refined our techniques at securing transport.

Hey Trackhead...maybe I'll let DTM suffer some more in those Naxos. I mean, he comes home worked, but not that worked. I mean, he's tired, but he isn't dying by any means (what a jerk!)

    Maybe Dynafits aren't for him

Oh, and I love your TR's. Love them.

    Nice trip report.

Backside looked great. No Beta on frontside or if Z got first tracks.

    Well done gentlemen.
I can't believe you are a rando racer because I look so much better in Lycra than you.

That thing is getting tagged more that Superior. Much classier line IMHO. Your brother is one tough mang.

Superior is played out, overcrowded resort run, as far as I'm concerned.
