Arrow Some fun line in Chamonix Valley

During a nice hike to Index chairlift (Les Praz region in Chamonix valley) I've taken few shots. Later at home I was kinda surprised when I zoomed in one photo. So here it is.

Aiguille du Midi, Chamonix, France, July 15th 2008

Zoom in of original 4000x3000 pixel shot:

Another view of Aiguille du Midi ridge (not my photo, obviously) to complete the picture:

Never follow tracks in chamonix... ;-)

Though those tracks are just on the arrete. Amazingly the entire north face gets skied on occasion. First descent was by Anselme Baud & friends in 1978. There is a little plaque at the mid station telling you more.

Lots of crazy steep lines in this thread.
Time to get a little bit more EC representation here. Some of this is similar to Jumpturns "TR: Great Gulf Garnaganza 2009-03-17" report http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...d.php?t=154816 but my pics are from last year and without the shiney surface

I'll try to get some more this spring

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Maybe 40 something?? Could be 45 skiers right side of the top fan. Classic run if you get it on a good snow year and the ice bulge hasn't appeared.

Thanks for bringing this thread back Core Shot.

It's a shame so many of the photos no longer work, but the ones that are still there are great.

I'm shocked that Photobucket hosted photo still works!
