    Steep Skiing Photo Thread

Some of the other threads for rad hucking photos got me to thinking that we need a steep skiing thread. Steep skiing is something I really like to do and I know others out there have posted some cool photos of the steepgnar in the past, so lets see what you've got!

here are a few from a heli trip I did last month...

    gettin high in the heli

a fly-by in the heli of our line before we ski

    gulp

    have a good one!

butt puckering entrance, here we go...

    game on!

    chillin at the safety stop

I don't want to get into dick waving about #'s, so don't bother propping up a slope degree; everyone will be able to see how steep it is from the photos. Post em up!

54 degrees as in Temperature? We need guidelines here. It must exceed patch status and run for more than 200 vertical feet. I guess that would exclude every line in colorado, so to be fair we will say 150. Sick Glacier. Ta Ta!

I never said it was the uber-gnar, but keep in mind that was in August.

Thought I'd pick one for the moment. I could go on for days, but I need to work so I can get on some real steeps in the next few days.

Y'all know how you often see a picture that looks super steep, then you realize the horizon is tilted to make it look more gnarly then it really is? Well, how about a shot in which the horizon is tilted to make it look less steep.

On the side of Medicine Bow Peak, June 07.

Skiing, whether you're in Wisconsin or the Alps, is a dumbass hick country sport that takes place in the middle of winter on a mountain at the end of a dirt road.

A short shot, but it's one of my favorite lone star wp pics.

Powder snow skiing is not fun. It’s life, fully lived, life lived in a blaze of reality. What we experience in powder is the original human self, which lies deeply inside each of us, still undamaged in spite of what our present culture tries to do to us. Once experienced, this kind of living is recognized as the only way to live–fully aware of the earth and the sky and the gods and you, the mortal, playing among them. Dolores LaChapelle

How about you learn to set the lincoln before grabbing for the japan?
That way, you might not fall out of the sky landing on your head.
When you get that down, we'll try and take you more seriously. Until then, STFU, douchebag.

I have these crappy old scans of photos taken one summer 6 years ago here in the Snowy Range. I'm in the red and my buddy in the blue Hawaiian shirt drops in on a monoski. My wife took these shots and got my buddy a little late (after he landed) and me a little early (kinda pre-take off)

Here's me after doing 'the point' back up the chute.

I fucking love 'em. We finally have our snowpack in proper working order here. Soon we'll be looking to put them places like here:

Nice shots Lani, Leelau and St Deep. You guys probably have the most amount of insane steep terrain to play with South of Alaska. But Cali has some. This is just a warm up for what BCD has to offer, if he checks in.

get that uphill hand off the snow!

    Another cooly

My default shot, pointing down (I was alone)

Bit of footgae of the same. Its not great, its just what I have got.

And then there's this, everyones fav

You guessed it, another pointing down shot.

Some brief footy of a pair of skiers we met on the way down. Not sure why they went wide into the schralp.

And some heli dive steep just for the fuck of it
