    Beacons in CO

I'm going into the backcountry on a hut trip with a couple of experienced friends. I'm not as pro as them, and don't own an Avalanche Bacon and can't find someone to borrow from. I'm looking for a place that rents them. I'll be heading through Leadville up to the hut and I heard theres a place there that'll rent em in Pbville. Anyone know the name of it? Any chance anyone has an extra one they wanna let a sub-100 poster borrow from the 14th to the 16th?

Learn how to use it before you head out in the BC please. Even a few quick searches in a parking lot or something.

you should be able to find avalanche bacons in the meat aisle at your local grocer.

    Ditto that.

Check REI, Neptune, or Bent Gate - I am not sure if they do, but that is where I would start.

If you are anywhere near Boulder, I can let you borrow one, but I absolutely would need it back on the 16th for a trip I am taking shortly there after.

Call Sawatch Backcountry here in Leadville. Not sure whether or not they rent beacons, but its definitely worth a shot. Heather, the owner, is a super nice lady and just opened the shop this summer. Definitely a place worth supporting!!!!!
Skiing, whether you're in Wisconsin or the Alps, is a dumbass hick country sport that takes place in the middle of winter on a mountain at the end of a dirt road.
