    Holy Effin' Cold

It's a balmy -30 at my house right now. Sunshine is sitting at -33 and is not going to run their lifts until it warms up. At least it's bluebird and there's 30cm+ fresh in the last 48 up there.

10am and the gondola is still not spinning.

looks like a bit of a temp inversion too. (-20 on the top web cam)

Well 11 am temp in town of -32 with a slight wind knocking the wind chill to -40. Marmot closed for the day and the wind up high seems a bit stronger too.

-31C in Calgary right now. Brisk winds NNW 33 km/h = wind chill of -48C (-54F)!

I wonder if Doug_W rode his bike to work today?

Wow, this thread makes me happy yo live in the West Kootenay where effin cold is considered to be -15. For the 30+ fresh I'd be up skiing in the effin cold.

I did get them Dave but a wicked cold and the cancellation of the boy's Nancy green yesterday has kept them from making it out. Is it OK to hold on to them for the week?

Sunshine is going to be closed all day. Apparently only Glacier runnng at the Lake. Should be pretty good when it "warms" up tomorrow. Think a road trip to Fernie might be in order though. 44cm in the last 24hrs, and looking at the webcams, looks like they haven't been able to open much yet. Thinking that is probably worth 4 hours and -20.

    -32 in Edmonton, -45 w/ windchill. Nasty!

I was at Marmot yesterday, they had a power outage and some poor bastards were stuck on the chair in 50km/hr winds... hopefully no mags

Yeah, just saw what they got. Keep changing my mind every hour about what to do the next couple of days....
Have a feeling it will be pretty sweet everywhere the next few. Gotta decide if I want to drive to the really deep, or rape what I know inside out. My guess is with the wind, there will be some deep stuff somewhere on the back of the Lake too. Course it might have all blown to Sask by now. Maybe we should all go hit Blackstrap or whatever it's called.

-49 with wind in Lloydminster today. Supposedly -46 up north without the wind, nuts. I really don't mind as it means a paid day off for me. Too bad I didn't bring any skins, could have hit up Mt. Joy. Although at this temp, you don't even need skins.

Only two more weeks and then its Game On! for the rest of the winter, can't wait. And I'll be looking for mags all across the west to hook up with.

Don't forget that with the cold front the winds would have been ENE, so the usual back bowl wind effect might not have happened at Louise. Castle or Fernie might be the better choice.

(But with bitter wind chills tomorrow, I'm not leaving the city.)

I couldn't tell if it was a good thing or not that the Chevinator started this morning. Good because she started, bad because I had to go to werk.

haha... blackstrap. I worked for a month or so at a hutterite colony near blackstrap one summer. Huge climb to the top one afternoon to take in the stunning scenery.

All this new snow and cold temps should make for some great turns all over. I've got a free condo lined up starting tomorrow at the base of panorama of all places unfortunately. Though it looks like they got a bit as well and it's free so no complaints.

Not doing much better here! Minus 17 at the house right now, with wind chills over the last couple days as low as MINUS 70! Brutally cold! No skiing for sure.

I was supposed to head down to Juneau today but the winds were too high so the planes couldn't fly. Going to try again tomorrow, as I fly out of Juneau for Colorado for two weeks leaving Weds. I am bringing all my BC gear, but I am really looking forward to riding lifts for a couple of weeks! Let Patrol do the AC and just ride and do laps!

Plus having a few cocktails in the evenings and enjoying some restaurants, culture and stuff you just don't get in VERY small town Alaska!

    Skol!

Hell, and I am cold and it's 45F outside here.

It rained, so it is a damp cold if anyone wants to feel sorry for me

No bikey for me once it hits -20C, though I'm tempted as I'm falling behind in the standings

Hey, compared to a lot of you guys, we're toasty roasty in the Midwest! 6F, but with windchill, it's -14F! That huge cool-down makes riding on the 1/2 of rain we got yesterday a blast!
