I just can't sympathize with people from the upper mid west and this cold snap.

You live in the upper mid west FCS. That's like people bitching about it being hot in Atlanta.

Yeah but that’s the good thing about those people. They aren’t asking for anyone’s sympathy. Most of the people I grew up with up there are pretty hardy folk.

A bunch of people I work with, who are life long Californians, got sent to Chicago for a meeting this week. One guys only gloves were thin leather dress gloves, he brought earmuffs, and a thin trench coat.

This is what I believe happens due to the cold and lack of quality skiing in the whole Upper Peninsula +- 300 miles.

Amen, brother. Mainly upper Midwesterners though, St Louis and all that can’t enjoy it like a true Midwesterner.

VT-Freeheeler, holy shit nice find. You are not wrong, ha. All I can say is poor Randy, he needs to move to SF (or Madison) and start dancing with someone else more his style. Like a dude.

I went to college in an area that routinely goes negative dec-jan. Never needed gloves, just put my hands in my pockets like a normal person. And honestly, if they aren't walking outside for 20 mins at a time I think a windblocking trenchcoat + sweater+ button down+undershirt would be fine for a 5-10 minute walk.

IMO people over hype cold, when in fact most folks aren't really out in it for more than a handful of minutes at a time.

But those walks to the cab are so brutal. How can they possibly survive this torture of the climate changez?
