Damn! Hwy 2 is closed now too!!

From WSDOT "US2 Stevems pass is closed from Scenic at mile post 56 to Coles Corner at MP85 due to multiiple accidents. Estimated time of reopening is 12:15 pm"

Hope it opens again after lunch, as reported...

What size boot? I've got extra gear and even an ACL knee brace you can borrow if you'd like (we're both around the same height if memory serves me right). All boots (AT, tele, and alpine are 26.5 or 8.5-9 US). As for probe, shovel, and beacon, I only have one of those, I'm gonna need them.....

Skis, boots, pants, etc are yours if you'd like!

    I-90 Closed for 24 hours

Snoqualmie Pass isn't opening any time soon.

    http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/passes/snoqualmie/

Looks like Stevens/Crystal will be the place to go tomorrow.

Squirrel, how was Crystal this morning? Did they get the 9" stated on their website?

They just pushed back the estimated time, 2:00 pm. Stevens website says dot crews are going to preform avy control while the highway is closed.

As of 11 Am, I-90 will not be open for at least 24 hours.

OTHER: Friday, Feb. 1, at 9 a.m. is the earliest WSDOT will be able to assess the effects of this storm and our ability to reopen Snoqualmie Pass. WSDOT will continue to update the Web page with the most current information about the conditions on the pass.

That sounds about right - 9" at the base and 14" at Green Valley. Some of the trees held better snow, but also some of the north aspects did not get as much snow as other aspects. It was pretty damn tasty today. Snowing moderately. They were blasting SB. C6 opened, but not sure if they were going to get SB open today or wait for tomorrow.

It was horrible I tell you

But it wasn't quite as deep as I imagine the 60"+ are on the Pass from the past few days. I'm considering hitting Xtal again this weekend if roads don't open up, but provided Stevens remains an option- I'll be there on Saturday and keeping fingers crossed for Alpy on Sunday.

Honestly with Alpy/Summit likely closed- the odds on a big crowd at Crystal for Saturday kind of scare me...

    Yep me too.

Although I tell you Northway lift has made such a difference to traffic flow and numbers of folks on 6.

Give me a shout if you do head back up.

I wonder if the Summit will even be open by the weekend...
If that's the way it is, then that's the way it is.

I'm waiting until tomorrow morning to make the call. Hwy 2 still isn't open (they are now saying 6:00pm), so I'll have to wait until tomorrow. The plan is Stevens since they seem to have gotten more snow, but 2 closed highways might mean Crystal is where it's at.

I'm happy to hear Crystal was nice today.

SO deep but with the classic water-skiing texture on top. Built to stomp.

Sweet turns with the rippin rodent et Tap. Nice and relaxed, not too crowded and suitable amounts of elephant snot snow.

Definitely! I've got 3 more days to use so I'll be back up again.

And it is always a wOOt! WooT!ing pleasure ski with Le Bruce in his virtual powder garden. I've got some PwOdR pics of the Toque and Tap getting after it. Once I get home, I'll see if I can get a few posted.

My only regret today was having to leave at 12pm. (and the drive, damn I hate it! took me 2 hrs both ways today)

    least you got some.

i get the knee prodded tomorrow afternoon. doesn't feel ski ready but it never hurts to dream. really i'm just hoping for a good ruling and a sooner rather than later return date.

p.s. the guy ripping stevens on the toons could be the marketing director. have yet to ski with the guy, but i hear he's got the skillz.

hope you guys get to go after it, seems a shame, all that snow and no roads to get there.

I'm actually hoping that things slide huge in this storm cycle, so long as no one gets caught in anything, of course. There are just too many trees in the WA bc.

I managed my way up to Crystal today and was glad I did. A rad place with great snow today. Simply put: I had a blast. I'd love to hit Stevens tomorrow, Xtal again wouldn't be bad as well. If anyone's heading up and doesn't mind a carpooler send me a PM...

Man, I am not digging having to go to school this week and having my brother rub it in every chance he gets.
