review: Black diamond Verdict alpine style
Just got to try my new 190 verdicts. Mounted with Solly 912's a little forward of the line. I'm 6'2", 190lbs ,30 year skier. I missed the really good days, but Saturday was pretty awesome, new skis, new snow. Mostly cut up powder in the morning turning to crud in the afternoon. Skis worked great, floaty in the light stuff, stiff enough to rip the crud. They even held a nice edge on the wind scoured sections. I think that the Verdicts were at least as good as my monster 88's in the crud, the hand flex test shows the the Bd's are stiffer then the Heads. Best fun I've had on the hill all year.

Is this much more stiffer than the 08 (Gold) Gotama?
Edit: for making question already answered on the thread. Thanks, Laser.Last edited by Tony; 01-28-2008 at 09:26 AM.

I thought these were stiff. Went to the fry flyt site and found these numbers.
BD Verdict 96667. (Tail to tip, 9=stiffest, 1=softest)
'08 goats 54556
Legend pros 66756
Seems like all the Black Diamond skis have crazy stiff tails. Their designer must like to rocket out of his turns.

About putting Salomon binders on Black Diamond skis - did anyone at BD say you would void the ski's warranty by mounting alpine bindings on them?
I know that long-time BD employee Andrew McLean (das uber-uberskier) has a lot of input when it comes to BD's skis. I guess he likes his tails uber-stiff.

They did get tested by one of the magazines as an alpine ski, i took that as an OK to mount the Sollys up. After four or five more days I still really like em. Just waiting for another storm to hit Tahoe for the final trip of the season,

I would want to be forward of the line if I was mounting verdicts for alpine.
I guess i'm weird- I still think they ski softer than the hand flex for some reason. I do love them though.

Are the killowatts stiffer than the verdicts? I've heard both.

According to Andre Hals, kilowatts go to eleven.
Kilos = 10, 6,5,5,11
Verdicts= 9,6,6,6,7
Verdicts are the anti Christ though. 666
