Wow, what a day here. Just got done reading most of this crap. You guys

want the WHOLE soap-opera? Here ya go.

I will go ahead and fill of you in on a long history of a vast flame

war. K2 Chatter board was around in maybe 98'??? I was one of the

original posters there, along with Lemon Boy, Superstar Punani,

SummitConuskulr, and TwoBuddah. (memories!) Sorry if I've forgotten the

others. It was a ski chartroom in its infancy, and it worked pretty well.

It didn't have the community vibe, but was more haphazard like

newschoolers.com. I first logged on as Hugeairdog, just as a joke, not

taking the board seriously and having fun with it. Spent a year there,

and than took a hiatus for about 6 months. When I went back, the board

was gone.

I found out that most of those guys went to Powdermag.com. I than

signed on there as Brett aka Hugeairdog, only keeping the lame HAD

moniker for any others I had past known in the K2 Chatter forum to

recognize me. Well, I entered a beehive and it has not stopped since,

even though that was probably around 4 years ago. The group was a tight

knit bunch of people including Iceman, Dexter Rutecki, phUnk, MD9, Buster

Highmen, Pinner and focus. Outsiders were harassed and these guys did a

good job in seeing that the board was moderated by them to their

standards, and hundreds were flamed off the board. Here is where I come

in. These guys hammered me the same way AKPM is being hammered now and

has been since day one. However, unlike AKPM, I am not a pacifist. I took

it to them and boy did they ever take it to me. Each one of these guys

mentioned will agree that I flame warred with each of them individually

for extended periods of time.

I saw the board as a place that was public for anyone to use to talk

skiing, and I didn't feel like it was fair for these guys to treat

everyone else like shit. They saw it as their hangout, and I was the

outsider stirring up their little cult. Flame wars back then were a lot

worse than anything TGR has seen. Me vs. focus was probably the worst,

but I went at it pretty hard with every one of these guys......it's

worked out differently with each one over the years.

This is my take on how each feud worked out.

Iceman-Iceman and I pretty much warred with each other up until the last

year. As of then, I think common ground was found and we shared some

laughs.

phUnk-I said some things early on in the powdermag days that really

pissed phUnk off. Several years back I tried burying the hatchet with him

by offering to help produce a maggot video through e-mail, he couldn't

get over our beef and decided not only to pass up the offer, but to use

it as ammo in his war with me. I than engaged into him with both bazookas

blazing, and we've been at it in one way or another ever since. He just

resorts to subtle flame war tactics nowadays like shitting in my stoke

threads and stuff, usually nonchalantly.

Buster Highmen- Nothing really changed in our war, only that he ignored

me as of late really well, and in turn I didn't say much to him. He's

done the "ignore" thing better than any of them.

focus-The guy just disappeared one day, and that was that.

Dexter Rutecki- been flaming the hardest with me from day one. He's taken

things the most personally as demonstrated this past week. He just can't

let it go, even though I've offered him an olive branch time and time

again. I've turned my cheek over and over, but he keeps coming.....

Pinner-he and I flamed as hard as any others back in the day. One on one,

aliases against aliases, you name it. No holds were barred. He's the only

one I've met in real person....that was two weeks ago, we skied at

Loveland. It was all good, and years of flame wars and bullshit were

swept aside replaced with the stoke of skiing.

MD9-I feel the worst about MD9. We never warred real hard, except for

that shit a few weeks ago. I sincerely didn't know he was drugged_monkey,

and I made a comment which I wouldn't have if I'd have known otherwise.

It wasn't a dart intended for him, but he reacted with the thought of

thinking I did know he was the D_M. We than spun off that saying a bunch

of stupid shit that riled this place up...all from a dumb

misunderstanding. I do however think his head got a little too big, and

he had a huge part in chasing off KQ, he was already burned on this

place.

There are probably some of the other old guard that I've forgotten about,

but you get the idea. Most other shit-flinging incidents are outsiders

that don't know this history, and than see me warring with all these guys

and not surprisingly see me as the asshole. They make some comment about

me being a dick. I used to explain this shit, but it really got tiresome,

and I got lazy and just talked shit to them too, and it's a mad vicious

cycle. Pretty soon, it all comes to a head like it did today.
Those who haven't talked shit to me, have NEVER had a problem with me. I

don't pick on people. (except AKPM, but he knows I am )

There are a lot of people that are here today only because I paved the

way of tolerance here. It really is ridiculous how many people I've

talked to in the real world that are afraid to speak their thoughts here

in fear of retaliation from the old guard or other bandwagon sheoples.

I've stood up for what I think is right here time and time again. I

always speak my mind whether others agree with me or not. I stick up for

others like Dipstik and Samwich when others are bandwagon style attacking

them for their beliefs. I've tried making amends with every maggot I've

had beef with. Remember the whole binding/TJ thing this Winter? We've

both apologized and moved on through PM's. I've met 30 maggots this year,

and had a fucking blast with them all. "Powder to the Maggots" is on the

back of a chairlift in Silverton, which was my suggestion. I've given it

a shot to organize a mini-Colorado Summit the day before I was banned,

which is still going to happen. Summit and I have posted more stoke than

most this Winter, only for some of you guys to shit all over. SummitCo

has been more than a contributor to this board, and you guys saying shit

like "You won't be missed, leave" to him really piss me off. I'd

guarantee that he's posted more stoke this year than you guys have. What

has Dex posted this Winter that is ski related? I'll tell you guys

something, I get PM's everyday saying "Brett, I respect you for standing

up to these guys". Let it be known that the people you aren't hearing

from right now are in my corner. I had maggots calling me on the phone

all day today talking about this. Not just a few, but several. Some of

them you wouldn't even imagine being willing to talk to me, not in your

wildest imagination.

As far as you go ONS, you made a harsh decision without knowing the whole

story. You've gotta be here more than you are to understand the whole

story. I'm not going to go into particulars, but you keep talking about

this "stoke". Summit and I post it more than most others, no doubt. You

deleted a thread about 6 months ago because I put up someone's real name.

You asked me not to do that again, and I apologized. Dex continued to

shit all over my threads, and I ignored him. It was not until he was 3

pages deep into a certain maggots "maggots sighting thread" shitting all

over it until she deleted it. I'd had enough and told Dex to drop it or

engage in summer stink. He chose the latter, and ended up crying to you

because of a funny picture of him that was already on the board, minus

the Prozac tag. He decided to play with fire, and he got burnt. You

didn't warn me at all, and pulled the plug. Than all this crap about more

negative than positive....My last 3 threads, all ski related. Pull up

Dex's last 3. Pull up his last 20. I bet less than 10% are ski related.

If you're going to start deleting negative handles, start with Ted

Stryker. Also, tell everyone that he is not me. Than explain who he

really is. Than go down the line with Bretts Anus, Blurred 11's and so

on.

Owens, your board has done so much for skiing, myself, and everyone on

it. I am very grateful, but I think you're reaction was a little

extreme. Next time you do it, at least try and settle it privately and

don't fall prey to the dominant and entrenched exclusionary elitist

clique that uses deceit and propaganda to sway the actions of others here.

Brett you keep referring to all the stoke you and summit provide fair enough but you can't leave out the fact you have also provided as much outrageous bullshit. Your overall theme seems to be " it's the internet, were just having fun, chill out, if I meet you in person I'll be cool ...etc " well you never really seemed to grasp that there should be no difference in behavior here or actually meeting up and skiing with someone. If we ever cross paths I'd be happy to take a run with you, but honestly I won't miss your " online persona " here.

I remember some of it myself, I lurked for quite a while. then WTF is the big deal with KQ's quitting the board?
