Most definitely not a gaper quote but worth repeating--Female ski instructor to 3 women students in Scott Chute, encouraging them to use their poles more--"Pretend the snow is an ex-boyfriend or something."

Under lift 2 a Loveland, Sunday afternoon:

Woman: "Look out for the marshmallows!"

    Man: "Look out for what?"

    Woman: " Marshmallows!"

For fuck's sake, everyone knows they're called golf balls, and there weren't any of either!

Finishing a run and a woman is standing on the side with her skis in her hand. I stop to see if she needs help. She does, wants to know the quickest easiest way to the lodge. I tell her, "ski down to this lift, it's a very short ride back up, then you can ski directly to the lodge."

She says "There is now way in hell I'm going back up this mountain OR putting these skis back on. How can I walk to the lodge?"

I tried to exlain that she would have to posthole the half mile or so to the lodge, or she could just do a tiny bit of side slipping to get there. I even explained how to side slip. She was hvaing none of it. An hour later, maybe more, I ski up to the lodge, and there she is, postholing her way in.

Spotted a kid in his teens getting ready to leave with his friend and his friend’s dad after returning their rental gear. Problem is, he can’t find his shoes anywhere. After thinking about it, he finally realizes he left them in the car. The dad is stunned and says, “You left them in the car?! How did you get from the car to the lodge through the parking lot?” No one could figure it out. Did I mention the kid’s name was Jethro? I swear I’m not making this up.

    Clouseau: "Does your dog bite?"
    Man: "No."
    Dog: (Bites Clouseau)
Clouseau: "I thought you said your dog does not bite."
Man: "That is not my dog."

(Requires thick, phony French accents, except for the dog.)

Waiting my turn in the lift line as a single yesterday, a couple comes up and I ask if I can join them...lady replies very seriously, "sure, but we don't put the bar down"...I thought about it and decided that the reward of not having to wait for the next chair was worth the risk.

There were at least 2 more carabiners visible, and Hestra's dangling from them. I couldn't get the angle because I was really scared of him beating my ass like Spook said. Keep in mind this was on the front side at noon. He hadn't even been out in the snow yet.

I don't know - is it? The guy's an acquaintance from usenet days, and kind of a big deal in his nerd-world. But I'm unfamiliar with how cool path is or isn't, I'm a telemarking woods geek FFS. But I laughed about the skittle gangsta pants.
