And it's most likely a bar/restaurant that leases space in the airport, not the airport's bar/restaurant. Sheesh. What else you gonna call the big generic bottle of wine? They might even get a custom label on it.
If the Oyster Bar in Grand Central offers you the house wine, do you say "it's a train station"?

"let's go to the top, smoke a cigarette, do a shot, then go shred"

Maybe not gaper, but it struck me as entertaining, especially at 10 a.m.

I had a Texan tell me that you can distinguish a local from a poser because only posers call moguls "moguls."

Hahaha! And what did he say non-posers call moguls? I guess bumps...but really people use both.

Good for you. It struck me funny referring to the airport as the house.

Skiing with my buddy this weekend at Whistler and we overheard this on the chair:

"I like skiing the green ones because I can go really fast."

That was me about 40 years ago at Mt Ste Anne--coming from Detroit we didn't know how to turn when there was actual snow, so we just straightlined the beginner runs for a week. I weighed 135 and had 215cm Kneissel race stock GS skis--very used.

The dude with the natural sweater. That was at Alpine Meadows on 4th of July in 2011 ... back when it actually snowed in Tahoe. He made the news all over the state.

    Bro Carry

To keep the anti-gaper posting hate at a minimum: this might not be a gaper quote, this probably does not deserve its own thread, these kids probably ski better than me, and this vid may herald the return of a long lost WOL winner.... you might even think this carry is cool or these kids are just having fun (I think they were having fun/trying to be cool and they made me laugh so good on them. ...and, yes, our WOL winner looks like a ninety year old man walking up the hill, but I think that is due to the gopro superview distortion.

No matter where you go, there you are. - BB

Real locals differentiate between our bumps and their bumps. Also known as good bumps and weekend bumps. Nothing worse than your favorite run getting covered in weekend bumps and then waiting for a storm to reset that nonsense.

It's not good skier vs bad skier, it's snowboarding bumps vs skier bumps.

Old tele guy stepping on the backs of my skis every time we slide up in the maze. I turn around with a smile and say, "you must be from Europe?" He says, "well if you didn't have those twin tip skis!" The line moved and I was on the lift...with my Praxis MVP twintips

I walk into the men's restroom and see three urinals. I take the one on the far left. Two snowboarders right behind me post up on the other two. Mind you they have their little wankers in their hand the entire time this conversation happened.
    Snowboarder #1: We are fast!
    Snowboarder #2: Yeah fast!
Snowboarder #1: We need to turn faster.
    Snowboarder #2: Yeah faster.
Snowboarder #1: Instead of pushing the back of the board back and forth we should whip it!
    Snowboarder #2: Yeah whip it.
Snowboarder #1: We need to whip it fast!
Snowboarder #1: Yeah whip it fast!
    I left.

    Another one.

6-7 inches of beautiful new snow. In the afternoon I singled onto a chair with three ladies from Nebraska.
Lady #1: All these bumps are hard to ski.
Lady #2: (in a very snotty, condescending voice) Yeah ,well, you know this place NEVER grooms during the day.
    Lady #1: They should.
It was Saturday, Presidents Day Weekend and the green runs they were talking about were crawling with new skiers.
WooHoo, she said as she threw her wooden leg up over the dash!!!!!

Absolutely not true. Regardless of their chosen sliding devices, if the general population makes a gazillion turns perpendicular to the fall line, the bumps are going to suuuuuuuck. Snowboarders don't make crappy conditions. crappy snowboarders (and skiers) make crappy conditions. Got treated to a saturday pow day at abasin a couple of weeks ago, and got to watch some asshole skier post up atop two of the nicest turns on the whole damn mountain (where lift line splits off from turbo) and proceed to side slip the whole thing, only to hook a rock in the middle, swing around backwards, and recover in time to hi-five his asshole skier buddy. That's how you get crappy conditions.
