Best Gaper qoute of the weekend?

Cross posted from the SW Montana thread....

Some real beaters up here today. Right after I snapped this pic and put my phone in my pocket dude in yellow skied maybe 100 feet down the bunny slope and faceplanted. Double ejected. I should have stopped and taken another pic. But I wanted to get away from these people.

Space Man lost his ski and is walking uphill trying to find someone who knows how to attach it to his boot.

Good attire for hot boxing the Lunar Escape Module shack. Hard to tell from these pics but Space Man’s onesie is shiny silver metallic with NASA logos.

Edit for explanation for those who are not familiar with Big Sky: there are smoke shacks all over the place. Usually occupied by maggots. This is the one we call the Lunar Escape Module

Was coming down Corona at MJ and came upon a couple snowplowing down (easy blue). The guy is videoing her and isn’t looking forward and drops off the edge into the deep deep powder on the side. Good luck getting out of that!

This is why American needs more STEM education. It's a short step from this to the 737 Max

Today on the lift, all on one ride up, all from one guy to his buddy. For context, there was 6"+ on the ground and it was soft everywhere on the side of the mountain we were skiing. I wish I was making this stuff up... the guy was a walking contradiction.

"You know, I'm not stoked on marginal conditions like today. It makes it hard to want to ski again."
"Today seems like a good GoPro footage day"
"I really spoiled myself skiing good conditions at Alta"
"I didn't set the release values on these bindings, I'm just hoping they release when I need them to" (...? He's on Xenics and obviously they will never see a day in walk mode...)
"One time at Alta, I almost lost my ski on the lift. It's like one of the pins wasn't fully clicked into my boot." [enter a minute long warranty story]

Ok, for what it's worth, a 270 is apparently what you do when you are sliding sideways on a rail and spin all the way around as you come off to land forward or backward, depending on the way you spin. So it is a thing, or so I am informed.

    So there you go.

From the EC thread, Buttahflake getting all excited.

    Really. Strap-on.

The Sierra Sun used to publish selected police calls--my favorite was police being called by a neighbor because a house had been vandalized; on investigation it was determined to be bad housekeeping.

So in that case a 360 would be a fail?

Why is being happy about no grooming a gaper quote? Sounds like the opposite to me. What am I missing?

You can for sure 270 on and off a rail. It's been a pretty basic part of freestyle comps for a long time now. Like you can't be competitive not doing them.
That said, no idea what the context of the original conversation was.

Benny's train of thought is 10 inches > strap on . That should tell you something.

Obviously I know shit about freestyle and happy to keep it that way. I stand by my remarks about the 737 Max though.

Riding up solo on the tbar in Breck, dude halfway up asks me if he can jump on real quick. Definitely doesn’t understand what’s going on.

Sure. Liberal arts and sciences is important too. Tired of anti-intellectual bs I've heard my whole life. It's what devolved us into Donald fucking Trump ever being a viable candidate, let alone POTUS.

I wouldn't know because I don't fucking care. But if people are skiing smaller east coast mountains and stoked on that, then good on them. And again: no grooming is a good thing more often than not, especially if you know how to ski.
