Overheard in the office elevator this afternoon on my way back to my desk from lunch: "Crystal Mountain opens in ten days on the 22nd! Have you gotten your Ikon pass yet?"

    I'll confess, I sniggered

Half of my office has been talking about their ikon passes in Seattle. Same shiet.

Makes me afraid for the cluster it's gonna be up there.

Not to mention the lack of snow right now.

The WROD is looking prime right now, and likely worth waiting in long lift lines.

It's only the 12th of November. Don't panic.

Likelyhood of Ikon shit show is worrying though.

Not panicking at all. Ikon Bros in the office on the other hand...
Hope they enjoy their free stone grind on their new ultra light tech setup that won't leave the ski area boundaries.
Ikon mess may send me straight back to the Baker commute.

The under-rotated back flip, tip auger into scorpion, front flip save at 6:18 was sick. Licked the stamp.

Best Gaper qoute of the weekend?

Back when I was a bartender we used to call New Years Eve “amateur night.” Still do. It’s when all the people that have no skills or practice at being drunk get sloshed and it’s a shit show.

I70 was messed up yesterday. I ended up at Eldora. So did everyone else. The percent of people that were on rental gear was incredibly high. “What should we do with our houseguests the day after Thanksgiving...I know, let’s take them skiing!” Holy crap. Was scary out there, especially with literally 5 runs open and everyone packed together. Just getting to the bottom in one piece was survival. Tuck and shoot for gaps in the gapers.

From now on, the Friday ski day after Thanksgiving will be referred to as Amateur Day in our household. I’m just happy no one I know was hurt. It was terrifying.

Many gems, but, my favorite is the simple "oh fuck" when that guy sees the wall coming at him.

I'll ski the day after but only if there's good snow, not WROD. Had a great day at Kirkwood many years ago. On second thought--given the traffic shitshow truckee and north tahoe has become my day of Thanksgiving skiing days are probably over.
