While unpacking my gear at the hotel ski valet. I hand the kid a pair of L120's, " oh twin tips, do you do park?"

^^^ A few years ago, there was a crew that used to hit A-Basin on monoboards regularly. Pretty cool guys, actually; they said all their friends took up tele to be "different" so they figured they'd go one better.

I love seeing them on traverses. Especially side hilling traverses. Fucking brilliant.

There's some great footage of Plake on one in the bumps. Look it up.

Were you at Heavenly? To this day, there remains an odd number of monoskiers at that mountain.

Here's the solution, a splitboard monoski. Says it has "metal edges on the inside as well as the outside." This is so you can....ski?

Probably the most compelling argument for snowboarding I've heard.

"Makes a great wall and conversation piece." Hell yeah, I'd hang it on my wall. That would be cool.

"Don't you think those skis are over kill?" Looking down and pointing at my 191Lhasa FATS with 20" of new. My reply " Nope, just the right amount of kill."

Funny story, I was picking up my daughters season pass and this park rat looking kid was getting his just before us. For some reason I thought to myself that he must be a pretty good park skier. He had every park skier accessory down to the duct tape in all the right places. I later saw him struggling to stay up on the green run.

So my question; who's the gaper now?

Still him, unless he's really just a kid. Kids can't really be gapers. Too young and innocent. Maybe his parents for sending/letting him out in that getup.

Teenagers are generally pretty stupid, though. Anyone who's turned 20 realizes that.
