Newer skier, where should we meet later?
Skier B, let's ski that run, and meet back at top.
Newer skier, oh ok, but I have not learn how to ski uphill, yet.

Pointing to my Avalung, what's that? It's for my albuterol. What?
I can't believe you are a rando racer because I look so much better in Lycra than you.

Having been to AK a few times and being from NYC and environs, I can tell you, it's just like an NYC gym. There's no difference whatsoever. IDK why that guy would even bother going over a bridge or through a tunnel when he has it all right there.

Oh, I'm sorry, I've gotten sarcasm everywhere. Let me get a towel.

This happened in the lift queue today..
Dude on actual snowblades, 3 feet poles and tall tee shouting to two clearly experienced guys that fucks up when they're about to get on a T-bar: "GAPER!!!"

How are they "clearly experienced" when they fuck up getting on a t bar?

Why isn't Alaska Man wearing his helmet on the stairmaster? That's part of training too.

Wow. Im officially fascinated with this man now. Who is he? What does he do? Where is he from? Who are his friends? So many questions that will never be answered.

I guess that is best as one could never truely understand the Gaper Spirit Animal. It will always be left to ponder.

Goddamit--not another post about whether or not to wear a helmet on a stairmaster. What do you think this is --epicski?

    Powder Mountain

First post, not sure it belongs here. So my brother is in town visiting me. I ski at the Bird but the idea of going there three days in a row did not appeal to him. So I suggest Powder Mountain. The place has a soft spot in my heart, I love glades. So I'm driving up the road to the hill, it's a 4 cyl Wrangler so definitely not the most powerful, and that road is pretty steep. I'm going just under 30 mph and the speed limit is 40 (I think). I pull out where the shuttle bus picks people up and let a line of cars pass. Head back up and a guy comes up from behind, in a Honda Civic, crosses the double yellow and passes. No big deal, I'm slow, I get it. Thing is I pull into the parking lot literally 15 seconds after he does and park in the spot right next to him. Now the kicker is he gets out, looks at me and says, "Sorry I passed you man, I actually had some speed" (sarcastic tone). I said, "Well it's a good thing you did, clearly saved a ton of time, enjoy the fresh groomers!" I thought he was a great example for his son in the car with him.
