Was out for an afternoon dayhike in MRNP this weekend when we passed a group of ladies heading the other way.

As they approached I overheard one ask the other, "Do you think people come out here and cut away the trees that fall over the trails?" I responded with, "No. These trees in the national park are extremely polite and they make sure to fall in such a way that they don't interfere with the trail system."

MTB season here. Overheard at a restaurant while a group of guys from different parts of the country were discussing their day's ride:
"I thought all those tubes were for snow making." Referring to sap lines suspended from trees in a sugarbush that one of the major MTB trails passes through.

The ski area's not open and won't be for ten days, just got a two foot storm, people skinning all over the place, everyone that works there is busting ass dealing with the storm snow and the impending opening date, and one of the skinners stops and asks "Which runs are groomed?" He has an injury and doesn't want to ski the powder.
