Why is it that if you huff your own exhaust it smells so so.
But others exhaust is just foul gas?

Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason
I don't get this thing of pulling out a chair and putting it on a little rug behind your car in mud, engine or no engine running. I just try to get out of the boots and into the car as cleanly as I can, which still gets the back dirty as crap. So you sit in the mud to change footware, and then put all of that muddy crap into the car?
Hey, I'll gladly take on two soccer moms and their soccer daughters with one hand tied behind my back, unless they're carrying. They were from Texas after all.
Today at Sugar Bowl--guy on GS racing skis making panicky pivot turns on firm intermediate groomer at about 5 MPH.
I don't think I've ever seen so many people on terrain they had no business on (off piste north facing was rutted scraped ice with piles of lumpy ice in between this morning) and so many dads taking kids places they had no business being. Easter break I guess. Also patrol call for an injury--someone getting off the Disney chair--and a guy laid out in the parking lot --completely bare pavement--with an ambulance arriving. (I hope that was a minor injury to someone doing something gaper and not a medical emergency. My apologies if it was.)

Note to self....Don't wear Olympic or US Ski team garments. Way to many remarks, questions. Anti-gaper....

It's probably just having the ease and comfort of sitting down while taking boots off, and nothing about mud. I always have chairs in my car and a price of carpet tile too, so sometimes it makes sense to bring them out to take off boots or change clothes(to go to work), but I find myself doing it less and less.
The thing that makes absolutely no sense to me is people changing into ski pants at the mountain and also transporting their skis to the mountain in a ski bag(I understand tourists, but I've seen a lot of local people do this too)
Driving three hours in ski pants is not so great, although I do it. It must really get bad if you don't wash the funk out.
The thing about that chair and rug is, well, in the rugs case, you're laying out a mud sponge, taking in all the grossness, and then you put that in your car. And then you have to hose that shit off, like every time. Unless you have people for that. Or, don't give a fuck. I don't know, I like my car more than that.
We don't have mud in the parking lots here. Ice, snow, or asphalt.
You don't what gaper is until you XC ski in a pandemic. Woman today at royal gorge on a groomed track, things are melting out and there was a little creek under the trail that the groomer had filled in with snow. A little dip, about 3 feet down, maybe 5 vertical feet up and easily herringboned. {That's reverse pizza for those of you whose last ski lesson was when you were 4). Snow was nice soft corn, easily climbed without skis too. There was a little glide crack but easily spanned by skis and the snow was stable. The woman was stopped and turned around by this insurmountable obstacle. She looked to be 50 something--not old like me.
Well, la dee da.
