A quick scan of this thread would tell you that there are a whole lotta folks who don't wish there was more powder, although to be fair they wouldn't likely be included in "we".

I was thinking of all the posts about gapers complaining about powder. There's one about every other page.

UAN is not a gaper. Click the JH thread and see how many balls deep days he’s had while the rest of us gapers are waiting for snow guns and rope drops.

Not quite a gaper quote, but it came definitely from the heart. Overheard from the chairlift as someone came crawling out from some dense trees:

    - Hey Frank?
    - Yeah?
    - Fuck you!
    - Sorry, man,I didn't think that it would be this hard!

Lady with shiny tech setup. Not a scratch. Like pristine first day of the season.
    A) Well those sure are shiny
    B) Oh thanks, yeah I'm trying to get into Backcountry skiing. Trying to figure out how to make them turn.
    A) Cool. Have you been down X?
    B) Oh, heh, no I'm still working on greens and blues.

On the upside, she won't be intentionally seeking out avalanche terrain for a long while.

I honestly have no problem with this. What’s wrong with knowing you want to tour, then getting the gear and going into a resort to learn first? Seems like the right way to do it

If she was a friend, and truly a beginner skier, I'd suggest picking up a used setup with alpine binders on the cheap so that knees could remain intact during the inevitable backward twisting fall.
