On Saturday (Pic was taken Sunday AM) when we were leaving I noticed the 4runner about twice as far away from the road. Resort Snowcat had made a nice trail for the x-country folks, this yahoo thought it was a shortcut or just wanted the #instagram likes. It also snowed 6 or so inches on Saturday night so the cat track was buried in the photo.

I’m walking out of the Sundeck on top of Aspen yesterday and this 75y/o Bogner specimen is out front with a cig in her mouth. I snap a quick pic then walk to her left to grab my skis.

I’m well past her but then she yells at me that she “can’t get out of her skis” and demands that I help her. I oblige with a quick boot tap on the heel piece, no thank you or anything, just muttering. She gets her other boot out leaves the skis dead center where everyone is walking and takes a few steps away to choke down the cig before her ladies luncheon or next social engagement. A bizarre artifact...

At the lake today skiing solo and heading up the glacier express. Ski up beside a mom (peroxide blonde and tanning box skin) and young daughter. Mom is the first person I’ve seen/heard tell the lifty they don’t know how to use the lift. I shrug it off thinking I suppose they’re following the rules. It takes a while for the lifty to be able to get them to understand the process so I load the chair with another single and they get on behind us.

At the top is my first jeans wearing shredder of the season. Right on - the lake during the holidays continues to deliver. Peroxide mom gets off the chair behind me and jeans and her immediately start going at it. F this, F you, you abandoned us, where’s the other kid, up the gon-dOla? (heavy emphasis on the O). Ah, this all makes sense now. A match made in heaven. I left before things got too heated.
